Doesn't anyone else think that this fight is a sham and a waste of time???

Hopkins should retire and Pavlik should be defending his titles

It's almost like Hopkins is trying to prove a point...............but what is Pavlik doing???

    FIGHT KESSLER ALREADY

I wish everyone would stop complaiing about this fight. Hopkins is an old man but he is still a top ten pfp fighter. He is still a legit opponent. He can not fight Abraham because Abraham has to fight his mandatory first. Bute and Kessler already have a fight lined up. It was either Hopkins or Paul williams. Hopkins is a good fight for kelly because it brings exposure. A lot of people know who hopkins is. So he is giving the fans a tough fight and gaining exposure at the same time. If he beats Hopkins impressivly Joe C may fight him. And idiots will still say he is picking on an old man who happens to be #2 pfp in the world. ****ing idiots! Quit talking **** about Kelly taking the easy way out for fighting hopkins. Thats bull****. Even Hopkins gives Kelly respect!

Let's be fair here. Pavlik's not calling the shots. Arums calling the shots...I think if it were up to KP, he'd be fighting a unification bout with either Sturm, AA or whoever else has a title. I think Hopkins is all wrong for him and I actually feel bad that Kelly has to take this fight....not because I think he'll lose but because the deck is stacked in Hopkin's favor. The fights in his backyard and its at 170lbs. It just seems like Arums trying to make as much money off this kid as he can and he's f'n up Pavlik's career and legacy in the meantime. Just let the man be middleweight champ of the world like Hopkin's and Hagler were and see if he really can be a HOF champion.

Even so.....this fight is a waste of time.....Pavlik is just having his time wasted having to train for this fight......I mean, why is it happening?? I just don't get it....surely Pavlik has bigger fish to fry

I agree 100%. I think this fight is a total waste of time. I'm actually pissed as a fan that its even taking place....guess its the best money fight that can be made right now. Boxing politics man. It sucks! I know I won't be paying PPV dollar to watch it.

Seriously, to all those bashing this fight, who are the other "real" and "dangerous" MW comp for Pavlik? AA, WW (arguable), sturm (very questionable) and who else?

I disagree I think he's being smart trying to get to these guys before they retire. They are big money fights with big name fighters, if he disposes of them now he doesn't have to worry about them coming out of retirement for a fight.

Plus the average boxing fan who sees Hopkins and Calzaghe as wins on a guys record regardless of age, will stand up and pay attention making future fights against Froch and Abraham much more lucrative as those guys aren't big draws in america

If Kelly can somehow knock out B-Hop, that will be shooting Calazaghe in the foot.

yea he is a bit arrogant. there was an interview maybe a month ago where he acknowledged calzaghe as one of the best p4ps but said he would still beat him.

could be just confidence in his abilities

Yeah, Kessler is defending his titles.... This subject has been done to death on why this fight was made. No matter who Kelly fought out of the AVAILABLE pool, he was going to take ****. :-(
