I cant believe this is not understood. And all those fake i was big fan of Usyk and this changed my mind BS
This content is protected This is the best angle. Clear lowblow. Not a single part of Dubois glove was on Usyk skin, aka stomach. Whole part of the punch is on Usyk short. One of the cleanest lowblow you can get. People needs to learn the rules before commening. Too many haters and casuals. Madboys getting owned again, as they wanted Fury to have an easy time with Dubois, and now he have to continue ducking Usyk, cause the outcome of that fight is clear.
Seems to be some confusion, a punch can be a low blow even if it doesn't hit the groin area. I agree that Usyk's reaction was not one of being hit there, but the real question is whether it was below the belly button or not. It took me quite a few angles + rematches to decide either way, the punch was going upwards as it landed but it's the initial impact that needs to be considered. But on the balance of probabilities I think the ref made the right decision. For what it's worth I also thought the KO on Khan-Judah was low too. However, a few posters in this thread made a fair point that these aren't always called low historically, which is true. So Usyk could have been in trouble, also even if the punch was slightly higher I suspect he may have legitimately been in trouble too.
Usyk's pants go above the navel, which is fine, it is so for most I'd say all the boxers and in a way because of the design of the pants. The punch landed right on the band, it was a vertical one, but the hitting part is with the knuckles (of the index and the middle finger), so the upper part, so to say in this position, of the glove. The other can be considered a little lower, although not on the groin, but is also not the hitting one. On top of that, we have some people even claim that because it didn't hit the skin, thus it is a low one - that is terribly stupid because of see my first sentence. And they talk about knowing the rules, while they don't and it isn't only about the rules, but what and how happens in order to judge it by the rules.
All things aside, we don't know how Usyk would've reacted if ref started counting after the assumed low blow. My guess is he shakes it off and runs away from Dubois for a round and comes back to make Dubois look like roided Homer Simpson again.
What do you see here? This content is protected ^^We can see which part of the glove is making the impact, because it's the part of the glove that is compressing upon impact. That's high up on the belt-line, the top edge of the part of the glove making contact is hitting skin, the bottom edge of the part of the glove making contact is at the middle of the belt-line. We have a 2-D / 3-D perception problem here. People who say it's a low blow are looking at the side view facing the outside of the glove focused on the bottom right edge of the glove in the 2-D space. That's not the part that makes first contact if at all. The part of the glove that makes first contact and causes the impact from this angle : This content is protected is on the other side of the glove from this vantage point which is blocked by the part of the glove we see. We keep hearing people who are saying that it's a low blow arguing that it's about the "initial" point of impact, this angle gives the impression that it's scraping the lower part of the belt-line from that angle. But you can't tell from that angle which part of the glove hits first as you have no depth perception from that angle. The depth perception is seen from the first screenshot, from the other side, showing the inside / top of the glove compressing and decomressing upon impact. That's where any part of the glove first hits the belt-line. That's where it lands, where the impact occurs. Which is high up on the belt-line moving upward into the stomach.
Where does it say that a low blow has to strike the testicles to be illegal? The groin doesn't start at the testicles, and getting punched in the urinary system is damaging. It's one of those things where if Usyk was fighting Wilder or AJ and that happened, he'd probably not get the low blow called, just as Kovalev didn't against Ward. That doesn't mean it was legal though, just that boxing is corrupt. We couldn't say he'd definitely be KO'd if it was ruled a KD. Nobody will ever know. All we know is that Dubious would have quit, because he's a quitter.
Regardless of whether or not the punch was low (for which there are quite mixed opinions), there were still about 3-4 occasions where Dubois hit him to the body and Usyk complained of low blows. I might be wrong on that but I seem to remember Usyk doing that, and I think that is concerning as it is quite negative behaviour, and shows that indeed Usyk’s body is somewhat of a weak spot like some suspected.
