Since nobody responded I went to look at it.... impressive how Youngstown is a small city but had so many guys (Ray Mancini, Kelly Pavlik, Harry Arroyo, Greg Richardson)...
It might be Youngstown in terms of proportion.

New York and Philly were the ones that I thought of first.

I always thought it was a shame that Mancini and Arroyo never fought.

I think Brownsville, which is just a one-square mile neighborhood in Brooklyn, was the home of fighters like Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, Shannon Briggs, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Zab Judah and Danny Jacobs.

    That's a tough neighborhood.

    Great post.
If you say Brooklyn then wow you can add Rocky Graziano, Joey Giardello, Mark Breland, Tiger Jones..

Btw. Outside of LaMotta and Iran Barkley, I couldn´t find anyone else that came out from the Bronx....

Clearly without NYC Boxing we would have missed so much.....

I believe I can safely say that NYC is the most important City in Boxing history.

Philly has a lot of fame regarding this topic...... but is Philly better than Detroit ?? I don´t think so.

    Rocky Balboa doesn´t count.

Los Angeles is probably more prolific than Philadelphia in numbers.

Okay, but only 1 Hall of Famer (LaMotta), sounds like a big difference between Brooklyn and the Bronx...

Brockton produced 2 incredible champs: Hagler and Rocky. Must be something in the water because they're 2 of the toughest their decisions ever saw.

Philly and NY are definitely up there in terms of sheer numbers and overall ability.

Detroit and it isn’t close. The Kronk fighters and Joe Louis alone would clinch it. Ray Robinson even has roots in Detroit.
