Thanks fra, we have a tv and a cool manager in work.As long as we cover our workload for the day, he couldn,t give a **** if we mess about on the computers or watch tv.So I will most likely get to watch the opening ceremony. **** I would hate for my manager to move jobs.:yikes:rofl:rofl

Well depending on what you use to receive those channels you may have a red button on your remote which when pressed when your on a BBC channel will allow you to go 'interactive', which will bring you into a screen where you can choose from a number of events to watch which are taking place simultaneously.

The BBC do this for things like Snooker aswell when there are multiple matches on at the same time .

If you have something like Sky or Virgin or any of the satellite companies you should have this option available to you. If you get cable it may not be.

See for yourself Matt http://www.rte.ie/sport/other/audiovideo_index.html scroll down through that list of viedoes that starts with 'Olympic View: Siobhan Byrne' and when you get down to the 20th of July you'll find the link for 'Wins for Lee and McCloskey ' , click that and you'll be able to watch both Lee and Paul McCloskey's last fights.

Info on the available byes for our lads in Beijing.

The Irish Olympic squad could avail of five of 19 byes at the draw for the Olympic boxing event which will take place at the Asia Hotel in Beijing this Friday morning, 11am local time).

Unless they receive two of the eight byes available into the last 16 in the light heavyweight (81Kg) and middleweight (75Kg) sections, Irish captain Ken Egan and Sutherland will be in the ring for preliminary round bouts this Saturday.

Light welterweight John Joe Joyce (64Kg), bantamweight John Joe Nevin (54Kg) and light flyweight (48Kg) Paddy Barnes could benefit from three of eleven byes into the last sixteen in the light flyweight, bantamweight and light welterweight sections.

The light welterweights are pencilled in for August 10th, with the bantamweight and light flyweight categories scheduled to glove off on August 12-13.

Two hundred and eighty six boxers will compete in Beijing. The heavyweights and super heavyweights will not receive byes as 16 boxers will compete in each weight category.

The rest of the weights can avail of 34 byes into the last 16. Boxing will take place at the 13,000 capacity Workers Indoor Arena in Beijing.

There is a schedule there for all Irish competitors in all events.

Here's the format as far as number of competitors in the boxing and how many bye's go:

Here's the format: There are 11 weight divisions in the Olympics. Two of those have 16 boxers competing in the weight class(Heavyweight and Super-Heavyweight), while the other 9 have 28.

There were also two wildcard entries for the Olympics, one has ended up at Light-Flyweight, and the other at Welterweight so these divisions have 29 boxers in them.

Now obviously enough Heavyweight and Super-Heavyweight have perfect numbers so they just work away from a straight draw with everyone starting at the round of 16 stage.

Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, Light-Welterweight, Middleweight and Light-Heavyweight have 28 so what happens is 24 boxers fight in the first round and 4 receive a bye into the next round.
That leaves us with 16 boxers from then on and everythings a straight draw from there.

The same happens at Light-Flyweight and Welterweight except it's 26 boxers fight in the first round and only 3 get a bye into the second.
