Because Mike was a top boxer doesn't mean he is any kind of good trainer. Plus, his skills are diametrically opposed to those of Francis. Weird decision, but whatever.

Ngannou only had gas for the first round in Miocic 1, Stipe didn't have to absorb many bombs after that. He was petrified vs Lewis due to the Stipe PTSD, that fight may have broken the record for fewest ever punches thrown in MMA. He spent three rounds of the five grappling Gane.

I don't think this is an especially dangerous fight for Fury but Ngannou is probably more dangerous than a Parker or a Takam, even though these fighters are regarded as respectable opponents because they're experienced boxers with extensive records at a good level. Neither of those guys KO'd any of their 10 best opponents and Takam didn't drop any of them! We don't know how powerful Ngannou will be in boxing gloves but he hit a fair bit harder than Tuivasa, Hunt and Hardy in MMA gloves, who have all demonstrated power when they've made a fast transition to boxing.

Eddie Hearn - zero percent involved in the fight - was the one who spread the rumors of it being an exhibition. Ngannou is quoted in Sports Illustrated on July 17th calling out Hearn for spreading bs and saying that it would count as his pro debut and on Fury's existing record. :deal:

What impact do we think Iron Mike's tutelage will have, if any? They'll have been working together almost three months come fight night, and the man does have absolutely encyclopedic knowledge of the sport, as well as experience crafting knockouts against much larger men.

Normally one can say fury will walk thru ngannou regarding boxing technique but on the other hand ngannou is former ufc heavyweight so no amateur and seems to have incredible strenght in his arms and legs .

He holds the record in the hardest punch ever recorded and seems to be built like a tank .

Whats your opinion how the fight will be ? What strategy will ngannou try ?

This might be true but lets remember wilder is known as one of the hardest hitters ever .

Whatever - anybody seems to agree ngannou has an enormous physical strenght - it will be interesting to see if mike tyson will be able to teach him how to use it .

Ngannou has to try to fight like Mike and swarm Fury early to try to get him out of there.

This is a show fight, nothing else. Pro boxers and MMA fighters for the most part are not comparable in striking. Boxing takes years to gain proficiency, it's not something you pick up for 6 months and can compete.

I think this is closer to WWE then an actual fight. It’s entertainment for the mainstream.

I don’t hate the event but I don’t see it as a legit fight. I don’t think Ngannou can do anything but land a truly lucky shot.

Mike Tyson as a trainer is just part of the show. I don’t think Mike Tyson has any real ambitions as a trainer.
