Paul Williams had everyone shook with his Hearns type body but he fought stupid. Had he fought tall he could have been a multi division champ. Not taking into account his accident.
Also Mike Tyson, all in all his reign was short. Had cus been alive, he stayed with the same team and been focussed with no Don King or Robin Givens he would have ruled till mid 90's at least and been the heavyweight goat.
Donavan Ruddock & Dominic Guinn should have done more. there was a heavy hitter, round about welter (maybe heavier) in the 90s who looked the goods, was it Foster or something. the Mongolian campaigning in the UK 'Choi', he had the goods to be a Champion. many a fighter blew it, usually with reckless living and sometimes poor handling too.
Whenever this comes up this is one of my go to answers Kronk fighter Superbad Bernard Mays 26-1-1 15 KOs. Stories I've read is he used to always get the better of Tommy Hearns in sparing, Steward said he was the MOST TALENTED Kronk boxer of them all, his amateur record was 200ish wins, 2 losses. But then found beer and got hooked on it. His last fight was a loss but his pancreas was messed up because of all the drinking. Died of alcoholism at 33
Herol Graham didn't reach the heights his talent really should have led him to, because he was unquestionably one of the most skilled boxers of his generation but somehow he never quite managed to win on the world stage.
On some level... Hamed. Seriously entertaining, seriously athletic, extremely talented. But physically washed up at a younger age than he really should've been. The MAB fight could and should have been closer (if not the opposite outcome) if Hamed wasn't already basically shot (knackered hands) and struggling to make weight by the time he finally got around to taking that fight. If he'd stepped up a few years earlier, I don't think his lasting reputation would have been what it is now - as a man who got humbled the first time he fought a truly elite fighter. Still one of the great entertainers, but I do think he could've done more with his talent.
