As a man of despicable taste who rewatches Frank Sanchez fights all too often, I once wanted to see Andrade succeed at 160/168, before his inactivity killed that part of me. Now that it's rumored he is going to enter the ring with the Mexican Monster, my fondness of him is once again alive. After the BJS fight, Canelo asked Andrade: "Who did you fight?" .. and then asked him to get the-f. Should he beat Benavidez (unlikely) he can finally answer that question. Whom do you have, and how much pressure would Benavidez winning put on Canelo to finally take him on, if at all?
Benavidez stops Andrade after losing maybe 2 rounds at most. Andrade is not fighting Vanes Martirosyan. He's fighting a much better and stronger fighter.
I don't think Andrade was ever all that and a bag of chips. At best Austin Trout v2. At this point, Benevidez makes short work of him.
Disagree Andrade was a slick southpaw with an elite jab movement and above average defense had he f***** the facts he was supposed to fight he would have arguably been the best of his generation it's not his fault he was avoided throughout his career that had to suffer due to the blatant racism and tribalism that plagues boxing
I find it pretty arguable indeed. As for the rest? Ultimately, he made the deals he made and ended up wasting much of his high profile career. We can agree to continue to disagree.
We saw the worst version of Benavidez in his last fight imo. Tentative from the big lights pressure, stomach bug on fight day only rehydrated to 175 (usually 185) and in a foot ball sized ring with an awful ref allowing Plant to clinch him 80 times (literally) without a single warning. And he still beat him up. That fight was a great learning experience which means Andrade is in serious trouble, even though he is tricky.
BooBoo was never anything. Dude was knocked down by Vanes and ducked Charlo years ago. Hes on par with GR Jr or Tank Davis. Lots of hype and makes noise but doesn't fight any other full-time fighters. Just picks on smaller guys, inactive guys, or - most often - people well over the hill. Andrade was never all that, sadly. And BJS wouldve styled his a$$ years ago
