It is a serious question. Fury vs Usyk is surely much smaller than Canelo vs Crawford in North America which is the biggest market in boxing.

"Biggest" doesn't mean "generating the most money". In terms of boxing history, the significance of Usyk-Fury is in a whole different dimension to Canelo-Crawford.

That said, if it ever happens, Usyk-Fury will generate more PPVs than Canelo-Crawford ever will anyway.

Canelo vs Crawford. Nobody cares about Usyk and casuals don't care about Fury vs Usyk being an undisputed bout, they already believe there's too many belts as is. Canelo is the most popular fighter in the sport and Crawford has gotten a massive increase in popularity since the Spence thrashing. Canelo vs Bud is American vs Mexican. Black vs Mexican. Easily the bigger fight and will be talked about more

The undisputed HW championship will always be the biggest event in boxing.............always *worldwide*

Where I'm at locally however, no one knows or cares about Fury or Usyk, they know Canelo and Crawford though, but worldwide I'd say Fury/Usyk probably bigger

I never said it was to do with boxing history. Obviously then there's no discussion.

Usyk vs Belly for the undisputed HW title

Obviously Clenelo is a big star in Mexico and the US and whilst Crawford's star has definitely risen at least somewhat since his last fight I don't know if it would it be accurate to describe him as a star yet?

Both of them are only really stars (Crawford to a way lesser degree than Clenelo if he is a star) in North America and in over 100 of their combined fights only one was fought outside of North America (Crawford vs Burns), whereas, conversely, Usyk has fought on three different continents, in many different countries, and has sold out arenas, even stadiums, everywhere he's fought

    He's fought in

    Great Britain x 3
    Saudi x 1
    America x 3
    Russia x 1
    Germany x 2
    Poland x 2
    Latvia x 1
    Ukraine x 8

    Belly

    Great Britain 25
    America x 6
    Germany x 1
    Ireland x 1
    Canada x 1

Don't forget that Belly had to venture over the USA to pluck their greatest HW in the last 25 years from the shadows of obscurity. He had to use his star power, personality, charisma, and gift of the gab to introduce their own reigning HW champion to the American market.

Usyk is a superstar. He's the people's champion. The people love him. The real people and true fans not the sewer-dwelling vermin that is

    Usyk is love

    Usyk is fun

Look at the fun the people of Saudi are having as they joyously dance with him and shower him with love

    This content is protected

Now try and imagine Clenelo or Crawford doing the same over in Saudi and being showered with love like that by the locals

    Not easy is it?

That's because Usyk and even Belly have huge personalities and are very colourful larger than life characters with bags of charisma

Clenelo and Crawford are bland, insipid and devoid of personality and charisma. They're like a pair of mannequins compared to Usyk and Belly in that regard.

Prince Khalid has got Usyk and Belly on speed dial and is desperate for Usyk to return to the dunes again to stage that fight. He doesn't even have Clenelo or Crawford's numbers, let alone yearn for them to fight over there.

Who is even seriously talking about a Canelo-Bud bout ?

A total mismatch... Canelo hasn't fought below 168 in nearly five years, when he was in his twenties.

He 's much bigger and could walk straight through anything Bud could bring.

Other than as a dangerous-to-his-health cash-out fight, I can't see much prospect for a thirty seven year old former lightweight facing a seasoned occasional light heavy-weight.

Oh. and if it were to happen, it still wouldn't be close to as big as Usyk - Fury.

Fury Usyk and it's not close. Usyk is undefeated and although showing some signs of vulnerbility still seems to be a class above anyone else.
Alvarez has been weight class jumping for ages and been beaten and his last fight was against a guy who he's aged out after loosing 2 twice before.

Fury and Bud are good dance partners but there is a heavyweight fight for the ages that should take place

Clenelo has sold 75,000 + tickets once I believe but usually it's a lot lower than that and he has the huge luxury of having the Mexican market behind him.

Usyk and AJ sold over 65,000 tickets in Wembley Stadium in the UK but E-Hearn said they could've sold 200.000 if there was a venue big enough seat that many. Usyk sold 44,000 against no name Dubois last time out and he has sold out venues in the UK two other times before too, Saudi, Russia, Germany, Poland again, Latvia, Gemany and Ukraine.

Belly sold 94,000 at Wembley Stadium against Whyte

But Crawford vs Spence which was by far the biggest fight of either their careers and was hyped to high heaven as some kind of 2020s version SRL vs Hearns even though Spence was a grossly overrated product of the PBC/Showtime mafia smoke & mirrors hype machine and never on Crawford's level, let alone either of those ATGs, was held in a venue with a 20,000 capacity.

Again, Prince Khalid wasn't looking to stage Crawford vs Spence in Saudi, Clenelo vs Jermello in Saudi, and he ain't interested in staging Clenelo vs Crawford over there either.

Canelo is well known and Crawford’s stock has skyrocketed since the Spence fight. I think that fight would do a lot better numbers wise but Usyk-Fury is more important sport wise for a number of reasons.
