    Sylvester Jones
    Bob Cleroux
    Al Jones
    Mac Foster

5 no-name brand fighters Williams contrived to lose to. And let's not forget Bob Satterfield, who would have been a LHW for their fight if he'd taken a morning constitutional that day. Williams has bigger problems than Bentt

Given how this thread has panned out for you, it's pretty clear why you posted it.

I think sometimes people here go overboard on Williams like they go overboard on Lyle in what he might do against whomever, but I am solidly in Cleveland’s corner on this one.

A few years ago I would have said 50/50
These days I say clearly Williams after new footage has seen the light of day and become available.

In particular, I refer to the fight between Williams vs. Terell 2

Terrell shows incredibly slick movement and skills, a long excellent jab - Williams
cuts the ring well and establishes the distance very quickly and is fast for a Puncher.

Both Williams and Terell are better than anything Morrison has seen or defeated
and would beat all of his opponents except for Lennox Lewis.

I'll take Williams by knockout and Terrell beats Morrison as well.

    1. None of them with the exception of Sylvester Jones were no names. The loss against Jones was an anomaly. The bout was abruptly cut short when Williams had Jones on the verge of a KO, to make room for the main event (a title defense of Marciano's, that I can't remember off the top of my head).

Cleroux won a 3 fight series with Chuvalo and had wins over Miteff and Harris.

Foster went on to become the number one contender after this (undeservedly so but my point still stands).

Satterfield was a feared ranked contender at HW, and went on to beat the number 2 contender Valdez. Oh yeah, he also flattened the number 4 ranked heavyweight in a single round a year prior.

Al Jones beat Henry Clark who was ranked, beat O'holloran (who I think was unranked by then but still a decent win) drew with Folley (who was admittedly past prime by this point).

    2. He was not prime for any of these fights. He was green against Jones, and Satterfield and shot (literally) against the other 3.

    3. He damn sure wasn't knocked out in the first against either of them.

It speaks wonders you have to go vastly outside Williams' prime for any of these losses to these so called no names (who were in fact far more known than Bentt).

zzzzz I really don't care enough to argue about this subject. Have it your way, Williams' career of beating cab drivers, morgue inhabitants and debut boxers was incredible and worthy of much adulation.

Williams wouldn't beat Ray Mercer or old Foreman but I agree with the spirit of your post

More like one brown and one beige.

Anyway, "The Duke" in his prime was on the good stuff so I would say Tommy.

Fair fight though, saying Cleveland was on the juice or Tommy not on the juice then easy money on Cleveland by KO.

I hear ya JT but it does get a bit tedious having Andrew Golota in EVERY H2H thread.

The exit door is on the left you say? Cheers, I’m on my way out. ;)
