Gassiev will look like a plodding bum if Wallin shows up properly I'm amazed at how many are picking gassiev. I know it's the right choice given how terribly poor wallins last performances but we'll see.
Lebedev was a Cruiser the vast majority of his career, and a beast. - a big punching, granite chinned, long reigning unified world champ. And Gassiev knocked him down twice and beat him clearly 116-111 and 116- 112 on two cards( (with one corrupt dodgy card giving it to Leb by a point). That was a really good win.
Really good fight. Hopefully Gassiev makes a big statement KO and the hype train fully begins for him HW. So we can see @Dubblechin having a meltdown about it at least
Why would I have a meltdown? I think it's a good matchup. They are both about the same, to me. Two top 20 guys. I have no dog in this fight. As with every heavyweight fight, I just hope it's good. Neither guy has been impressive in years, frankly. We need heavyweights to either put on great fights or start dominating good opponents. Either will suffice.
Being a critic of someone who underperforms isn't being a hater. I don't hate any fighters. I'm a fan of the heavyweights. I just want to see exciting fights. And neither one of these guys has delivered in years. Maybe this will be exciting. If it's not, I'm not going to praise either one, you can certainly look forward to that. But I praise fighters all the time. I even said I thought Usyk-Dubois was entertaining while it lasted. (You must've missed that.) Not too many people on this board took the time to do that.
Dude. I don't know who you are. I don't care who you root for. I'm surprised you care at all who I want to win any fight. Honestly don't care who wins. If someone looks impressive, I'll be the happiest guy here. I love heavyweight boxing. Especially when the fights are great. This seems like a good, even boxer-puncher matchup. And if you know me in the slightest, I tend to root for the PUNCHERS. I also can't wait for Usyk-Hrgovic. I think that will be a great fight, too. I can't wait for Joyce-Zhang II. I want all the fights to be memorable and great. I want to be entertained. If someone wins the Gassiev-Wallin fight emphatically or impressively, I'll be happy. My day certainly won't be ruined if Gassiev scores a scorching knockout. That's why I watch. If they don't, or if it's dull, or someone quits, I won't praise them. And neither Wallin nor Gassiev has done anything in years to warrant anyone lauding them. I don't praise anyone if they don't warrant it. You're barking up the wrong tree.
LOL at you doing your Mayweather type 'I don't know who you are'' act. Do you have Alzheimers or some other condtion that gives memory problems . You wrote about 10 posts to me in this thread https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/people-arent-really-hanging-their-hat-on-jared-anderson-as-the-next-great-heavyweight-are-they.708278/
Sorry, didn't remember it until I saw it. (Arguing about visa issues isn't too memorable.) I'm glad Gassiev and Wallin are fighting each other. Sounds like a good matchup. And, like I said in the other thread, he doesn't need a US visa to fight Wallin or anyone. I hope it's a great fight. Don't know what else to tell you. If either of them wants to show up and look spectacular that night, I'm more than willing to heap praise. But, like I said, I don't have a dog in that fight. Just hope it's good.
Good fight , i think Gassiev is too small for the heavyweights at 6'2 , but he can crack .Hope he can make a statement.
Lebedev was still making 175 as a 25 year old man and he's billed at 5'11, which means he's probably shorter than that, with a 71 inch reach. He was a very small cruiserweight. Lebedev got stopped by a 41 year old G. Jones in 11 and was controversially beaten in a very close fight with Huck. Both G. Jones and Huck were beaten by Cunningham. Lebedev was officially dropped once by Gassiev, with Boxrec having Gassiev the winner by 1 point (115-114). Usyk by contrast virtually shut a more mature and experienced Gassiev out.
He doesn't like Gassiev or Wallin. Gassiev because he's a cruiserweight (Dubble loves the heavyweight division and probably wishes cruiser didn't exist, so that cruisers would have to fight heavyweights). Wallin because he's a boxer without big power. He was favouring Parker over cruiser Hunter, despite Parker being more boring and not stopping anyone. He also doesn't like the fact that Gassiev has been plagued by constant injuries and not fought anyone of note since 2018.
