    I would have thought Bowe would impose his size on Joe but the more I watch of Louis I start to think he can probably win this fight.

    i always feel like there are many here that have a more sophisticated and reliable analysis of the proposition, but i'm up and watching the threads so;

    if all the stars were aligned and bowe performed at his absolute peak, then maybe he could beat joe louis, but that is true of many HoF heavies. thing is, from my limited knowledge of context and from what i've seen, joe was way stronger willed and unless he got ko'd, the longer the fight goes, the more likely he pieces up and discourages riddick and then proceeds to beat him down and stop him. on bowe's best day.

    No chance. Bowe too big, mobile, strong. One of the reasons a Cruiserweight was created is this example.

    In H2X terms I see Bow above Holyfield. If I'm right I think Peak Bowe (Hollfield 1) would beat Joe Louis. Because I don't see Joe Louis H2X being above Holyfield. I also think peak Bowe would beat Schmeling, Charles and Marciano.

    The man who threw the belt in the trash instead of fighting the #1 contender?....don't think so...

    At least your rely ain’t nasty. I thought I’d get hammered for voicing my honest opinion that Joe Louis is great for his and other eras but once you get heavy weights that are over 6-4 and 230pounds and athletic with it things change as far as head to head contests go. Not all time rankings.

    Yes. He has the hand-speed, power & ring generalship advantage. Bowe also has very leaky defense so that goes against him as well.

    Would you say Louis is a bigger puncher than Bowe?

    Bowe had a competitive series of fights vs Holyfield who is a small Heavyweight, and who doesn't hit anywhere as hard as Louis. Plus Holyfield rocked him and put him down and nearly out in one of their fights.

    Bowe has size but likes to fight on the inside, and that would be his downfall against a monster puncher like Louis on the inside.

    Lord, yes. The recent low-rating of Louis here continues. Is there anyone that some folks here think CAN'T beat Louis, who IMO is no worse than the second greatest heavyweight ever born of a woman?

    Yes, Louis beat BIG guys like Carnera and Buddy Baer. But those guys were bums that couldn't fight. Bowe was a big guy, and he could fight to go along with it. Would be interesting.

    Louis was a cruiserweight by modern standards, as was Marciano.

    Bowe was a big heavyweight who liked to pick on the little guys, which Louis qualifies as. On the other hand Bowe avoided punchers and wasn't exactly difficult to hit, which is not good against a guy like Louis. I'd say Louis certainly could beat Bowe, but I'm not sure whether he would.
