Would a Marciano born in the 80s or 90s have been trained as a HW?

Both those guys were larger than Marciano (taller and 8 inches of reach), both more skilled, Tomas was faster and Eddie was WAY faster. What you present is known as a "reach".

We have two different questions here:

Would Marciano have put on weight (or even being naturally bigger by grace of being born in an era with more access to food and better health care)?

    And

If he was and stayed the same weight as in his actual life - i e 185-190 lbs during his prime without having to make weight - what divison would he have competed in?

The first is harder to answer, especially if we're he talking about what his size might have been had he been born with the access to food and health care US citizens had during the 90's and early 2000, but for the second we have a very good yard stick. And that is that those who are at 185-190 without having to make weight, fight - without any found exceptions - below CW (since it got a limit of 200 lbs). The vast majority of them at LHW (there have probably been a few SMWs of this size, but not too many).

Maybe a 5 feet 8 inches Welterweight? Okay. I am not saying you claimed he was 5 feet 8 inches. I am simply saying he has been dropped to 5 feet 9 inches, by others. so why not another inch, to 5 feet 8 inches, and 40 pounds lighter? Maybe Rocky born in 1880?

This thread is starting to give me some good laughs now, which is great! I love this boxing forum!

No, he would have been a cruiserweight in that era.

On the other hand, money, may have motivated him to fight in the heavyweight division as it did others, like Holyfield.

He could probably make 205 if he stayed on the Italian food during training, with his work rate it would have packed on muscle and the high carbs would have been perfect for his road work, under 200 he already had more power than Holyfield and Usyk
