9/23 Will Zhang get old overnight against Joyce?

Zhang will fight the same fight for 6 rounds. The question is, will Joyce make it go past 6 to wear Zhang out?

A leopard doesn't change his spots. Joyce is easy to hit and that doesn't bode well against a puncher like Zhang,

 

No but Joyce should be training harder and put on his riod mass.

 

Look at his newest interview. He got a new strength and conditioning coach, there is some footage. He's in shape.

Zhang looks good because he hasn't suffered any major damage in his career so far, that's something that should definitely be taken into account. for example, Chisora and Helenius are almost the same age as Zhang, but they had hard fights and are at risk of brain damage...

 

Easy win for Joyce , he will outwork him this time .

 

Not if he plays defense with his face again. Joyce needs a whole new gameplan. Questions is, does he not only have one, but can he do it for a whole fight as well.

 

Zhang might be a bit older but Joyce has taken way more punishment in his career. If anyone is going to show a marked between fights it’s going to be Joyce.

 

Dont think soo. He still will have same advantages as he got first time soo it will be:
1. Hands speed
2. Punching power
3. Defence
This plus his iron chin, size and strenght, southpaw stance make same problems to Joyce as first time.

There is no accident in first fight. Joyce got injured because he taking punishment.
Joe is good boxer and u cant ever write off elite boxer like him but this matchup is just all bad for him.
Zhang again imo.

 

It's a close fight.

 

Joyce will try to pour it on Zhang from the start and drag him into deep waters, then attempt to stop him late. It's a pretty risky gameplan, since Zhang has the power to hurt him and the speed and sneakiness to get shots in that Joyce isn't prepared for. I'm pretty stoked for this fight since I like both men. And it's interesting to see a really good Chinese HW in the mix, when only a few years back people were saying it was impossible.

Disagree. It may not look like it, but that's what Joyce tried to do in the first fight, it's what he does EVERY fight.

This time he will go in and jab and move if he has any sense, get through the first 6 and THEN look to pile it on Zhang and take advantage of his ****(?) gas tank.

Unfortunately, he moves like he's pulling a caravan.

 

Yeah possibly. He can't just wade in throwing any old punches as Zhang will catch him that way. When I say pressure I mean keeping Zhang on the backfoot and unable to get anything going. Joyce is able to fight this way by taking the sting off his shots and just throwing pitty pats with the odd clubbing hook or straight right down the pipe to keep the opponent honest. Zhang's got one of those gastanks that just seems to get depleted at the same stage of a fight regardless of what he's been doing up to then, so Joyce's gameplan should be to minimise whatever damage Zhang can ship in that time rather than force him to empty his tank, if that makes sense.

W cant forget that Joyce was hard wobbled in second round. First one was bad for him too.
That's stay in memory. Joyce will be worried now about punching power of Zhang. For first fight he go almost like he have mix od Vitali Klitschko, Oliver McCall and Marius Wach Chin.
Now when he know he cant take thoose shoots again and again he will be probably trying more defence style. But I dont belive Joyce can fight in defence way.

And Zhang stamina isn't soo bad. He go 12 rounds nice tempo with Hrgovic and dont quit. Belive in his end because of condition for me is silly because Zhang is economical in movements. He punch hard but same he take his time. Off course if someone is more active than him he can have points problem but first u must to survive his counter...
