I like Crawford, but he falls just a little short due to level of comp for me. Accomplishment wise, I think one can argue, him being the first to be undisputed in 2 divisions is enough. Now if he can get the belts off Charlo and become undisputed in a 3rd division, that makes him an ATG. If he then beats Canelo at 168, no question about his ATG status.

I would say yes. 40-0 and undisputed in 2 weight classes is a lofty accomplishment but his resume is lacking a bit.

Seems to be. I guess we'll find out soon enough. His career is sort of wrapping up.

Pretty easy runs to undisputed in both divisions, doesn't make an ATG for me

The only way Spence could be considered p4p top 5 is if p4p became the new name for the welterweight division, Spence never belonged anywhere near a p4p list

They aren't. The only active ATGs are Usyk and Gonzalez. Crawford might be the most skilled fighter alive, but he does not have the top names.

Beterbiev for example is 19-0 with 19 KOs and he annihilated a prime Gvozdyk. But 1 name isn't enough. Crawford has 1 name and 1 top guy on his resume, and it was a past prime name. The other guys just don't cut the mustard.

Well you know the general consensus was he was at least top 5 pfp maybe top 3. He's in the Ring magazine top 6 pfp now. Thats why Crawford is ranked so highly, that along with in his last 15 title fights he has Ko'd (14).

So according to the Ring, there aren't 5 people in the sport better than Spence? That seems wild to me. Respect to other people's opinions, I've just never understood it with Spence , I've never seen anything special with him. A decent fighter with above average power, that's about it. Skillwise, I've always found him basic, albeit effective, but he was always going to struggle with higher level fighters. Too basic, not quick enough, not tight enough on the defence, without game changing bailout power. I've said for a while I think Crawford and Spence are both overrated , and I think the anticipation of them fighting each other and that rivalry being epic (spoiler, it obviously wasn't!) pushed them both higher in the p4p rankings than they should have been

Crawford should have moved into the Welterweight division many years earlier than he did, he wasted alot of time at lightweight and lww, his resume being weak is his own fault and is not atg worthy.

Nah, he is one big win away.He is on the cusp! Like he said.Money isn’t the main thang for him,it’s legacy.Right after that he called out Canelo. There you go!!The man is right there or there abouts.

The thing is, the welterweight division had been stacked with top proven fighters for years and Spence had beaten four of them in impressive fashion and that didn't go unnoticed. So he was considered the truth in that division. Spence stopped Ugas who beat Pacquiao, he also beat Shawn Porter, and Danny and Mickey Garcia. He also stopped Chris Algieri, Lamont Peterson, Leonard Bundu and Kell Brook. That's wins over 8 world Champions, (5) by KO. HE may not have been at his best, but he was solid as h*** and Crawford just mopped the floor with him. Nobody should question the reason why Crawford made all them guys look bad, it because Crawford his self is a great fighter. Not so much that they were scrubs.

He’s below guys like Canelo, Marquez, Bradley and Cotto. Those guys are below Floyd, Pac and Wlad who are the only 3 I would consider ATGs in recent time.

Those fab 4 guys got to fight each other. Bud can only fight who will get in the ring with him. His resume lacking names is meh to me because if you cant watch him and see generational talent thats your problem. Those guys who so many talk down on from 135-40 were undefeated and/or champs before Bud whooped them. Boots wants to fight now that Crawford brings a bigger bag but His pops turned that down before the Spence payday.
