Because supposedly Iran now has these subtle boxing skills that for some reason he NEVER used.
Your straight up lying - Tinley CLOSED Iran's eye and Iran couldn't believe he got the decision. That was just a hometown decision.
Pre prime??? What the hell are you talking about? When was Iran's prime exactly?
And you still have not answered the question: what were Iran's TOP FOUR middleweight wins????
Let me answer it for you to save you the trouble:
He really doesn't have any noticeable wins outside of Hearns,Kinchen and Oljaide.
Jorge Amparo basically couldn't miss him and Stacy Mcswain gave him fits as well.
Tinley and Sanderline could have gone either way.
He had absolutely no answer for Kalambay and that was a 15 round fight.
I saw him fight MANY times and my god he was so very easy to hit.
He never attempted to box with anyone because he was the furthest thing from a boxer and yet here you are stating that Iran somehow had these subtle boxing skills when you have 0 proof of it because he never Outboxed ANYONE.

7 punches landed separated the Barkley vs Hearns rematch. Barkley threw 904 punches but landed only 224. Hearns threw 578 and landed 217.
Barkley was missing all night long and yes he dropped Tommy early on but I thought Hearns won a very close fight because he was alot more accurate and made Iran miss alot.

Forget the punchstats which are not always accurate by a long shot it's just some guy pushing a button, who dictated the fight ? Barkley. Who was the aggressor ? Barkley who landed the harder shots ? Barkley who did the most damage ? Barkley who scored the only knockdown in the fight ? Barkley.

How in the world you had Hearns winning 7 rounds is baffling in all honestly, you're pretty much the only boxing fan i've ever seen debate the decision.

Lets have a poll right now and i guarantee you'll be the only member in the classic forum that believes Hearn won that fight.

Lying ? no my guy i actually watched the fight and scored it here's my scorecard right here.

    Iran Barkley vs Mike Tinley

    1 Barkley
    2 Tinley
    3 Barkley
    4 Barkley
    5 Tinley
    6 Tinley
    7 Barkley
    8 Barkley
    9 Barkley
    10 Tinley
    11 Tinley
    12 Tinley

    114-114 Draw

Yes as i said "Pre Prime" i feel like he started to come into his own a year later beating top contender James Kinchen who was 36-1, in this fight you also see evidence of Barkley boxing at range with his underrated boxing skills, it was infact Kinchen who got the better of Barkley on the inside. And Barkley was forced to box at range which he did quite successfully.

    Thomas Hearns
    Michael Olajide
    James Kinchen
    Wilfred Scypion

Scypion was a bit past his best but the others were top ranked contenders with obviously the big win over Hearns who was the champion.

You didn't need to save me the trouble i'm well clued up on that era of Middleweights, Barkley beat 2 highly ranked top 10 contenders, and then beat WBC Middleweight champion and ATG Thomas Hearns is that not impressive to you ?

Mayweather never fought at Middleweight and his highest recorded weight was 152 pounds. What makes you think the very small Mayweather can move up to 160 pounds and be effective like Kalambay ? also Kalambay constantly moved around the ring Mayweather fights more in the pocket different styles. And we all see how Mayweather got bullied by another aggressive fighter along the ropes in Maidana. Yet you think the small Mayweather can move up to 160 pounds still be effective vs a big 6'1 highly aggressive Middleweight ? baffling.

Also McCallum lost worse to Kalambay the 1st time i suppose he loses to Mayweather aswell at Middleweight based on your logic ?

Infact the fight would never take place without catchweight involved, there's not a snowballs chance in hell that Mayweather would allow Barkley to weigh in at 160 pounds.

Actually Barkley had to rely on his boxing skills and fought at range vs Kinchen so you're wrong, he showed good skills vs Duran and was outpointing him until Duran came on in the last 3 rounds and had a big finish.

But all this is irrelevant obviously Barkley isn't going to outbox Mayweather, he's going to fight him aggressively and bully him with his extra strength/size. Maidana is not in Mayweather's league regarding boxing skills, yet he still gave Mayweather fits by fighting aggressively and bullying Mayweather.

Mayweather is obviously a greater fighter than Barkley, but no i don't think Mayweather can move up to Middleweight and be anywhere near as effective that's why we have weightclasses.

Finally all i'm going to say is look at the poll results for both of these threads in classic forum and world boxing forum there's your answer nothing else needs to be said.

For all his skills I could never figure out Kinchen - one minute he's looking great slipping and counter punching the next minute he's just standing there.
The difference in that fight was Barkley dropped him.
Honestly I thought Buster Drayton beat Kinchen.
Wilford Scypion was WAY done by the time of the Barkley fight and as a matter of fact retired right after his loss to Barkley.
Olajide was one of those boxers that once he lost the first time that was all she wrote.
He never beat a rated boxer again after the Tate loss.
I actually remember seeing him fight one of his fights after the Tate loss and he looked HORRIBLE. It was like he had lost his legs/balance.
But that was a good win for Barkley regardless.
Mike MCcallum was VASTLY more skilled then Iran and a completely different fighter capable of making adjustments during a fight.
I'm glad you brought up Madina because it proves my point: Madina weighed in at 165lbs to Mayweathers 148lbs and Mayweather beat him.
Canelo mind you was also 165lbs vs Mayweathers 150lbs and Mayweather basically won almost every single round against him and rather easily.
And in that fight Mayweather moved when needed.

Now its forget the punch stats because it doesn't go along with your narrative.
Boxers get rewarded for making an opponent miss which Hearns was able to do on many occasions.
Loved Hearns body shots underneath to Barkleys body and that jab.
Winning by one point on two of the judges scorecards is not exactly dominating a fight. And that's WITH a knockdown.
And did you see Barkleys face afterwards?

Floyd would never ever ever ever ever fight Barkley at 160. Literally never.

If he did, he would lose. That pressure and power punching.

Floyd wouldn't make it. He would know better.

There are plenty of people who thought Hearns won the second time around- that was a close action packed fight that could have easily gone to Hearns as it did Iran.
Bullied around the ring? Hearns fought off the ropes to disguise the fact that his legs were not what they used to be and he did a brilliant job.
You would think he got dominated when it was far from that- it was a great fight.

Actually you brought up the punchstats to spin you're own narrative don't get it twisted.

Make a poll right now and let's see how many people think Hearns won the fight, I guarantee no one on this forum would agree with you.

I never said it was dominating performance from Barkley. But clearly Barkley dictated what went on in the fight, he bullied and backed up Hearns on the ropes and made it his type of fight roughing up Hearns.

Yes Hearns did make a fight of it but overall with the knockdown and Barkley's effective aggression, he clearly won in a competitive fight. And I fail to see how you can possibly have Hearns winning 7 rounds in the fight.

I'm gonna cut a long story short because clearly you don't like Barkley and I'm just wasting my time debating this subject.

Mayweather would never step in the ring with Iran Barkley at Middleweight hope this helps.

He'd fight Barkley at a 152lb catchweight and hope that Iran died on the scales...

Listen, am I prime Tia Carrere hot? Of course not. Am I prime Barbara Carrera hot? Not really, as that's still a very high bar. Am I prime that-chick-from-Arby's-who-looked-at-you-thirstily-while-ringing-you-up-that-one-time-who-seemed-vaguely-exotic-but-really-too-heavy-for-your-tastes hot? Of course I am. Of course I am that hot. I am probably literally exactly that hot. But what does that have to do with this great thread? Probably nothing, sure, but maybe everything.

Barkley's too big. Floyd would outbox Barkley at points but Barkley size, strength, pressure and punching power get's to him eventually. Barkley late stoppage.

Canelo damn sure weighed more but him making the weight is what I wouldn't bet on. Plus Floyd aint a catch weight guy either which I've always given him credit for.
