Do you think we'll ever see a fighter win a legitimate world championship in boxing, kickboxing (or muay thai) and mixed-martial arts? We've seen fighters muay thai fighters like Samart Payakaroon and Samson Isarn transition to boxing and win titles in both sports. But would being a three sport champion be too tall of a task for anybody to realistically achieve?
Do you think we will ever see a Guy who will be a Champion in tennis, squash, badminton and pingpong? Cut that non-sense. Useless thread. Only Ester Ledecka was able to make it on snowboard and ski on Winter olympics .... and those are only two sports...... not three.
If they did it would be via some gimmicky low-hanging-fruit path of least resistance BS. For instance, a heavyweight champ from kickboxing and MMA would have to luck out and find a 10x bigger paper titlist cherry pick than RJJ is said to have in John Ruiz. There simply aren't enough hours in the day or years in a human adult's prime athletic shelf life to reach true championship pedigree in more than one combat sport. Let alone three. Floyd Mayweather Jr. was Floyd Mayweather Jr. because of his wealth of time equity invested - countless repetitions in the gym (sparring several partners in a row until each got tired, doing 3-a-days, midnight runs etc). His training regimen was ridiculous and not emulatable for most. Now spread that thin over a different disciplines, and yeah. You're a jack-of-all-trades and not climbing the mountain in both.
I got a lot of respect for that. Drivers that are good in different racing categories. Mario Andretti was good across different categories as well. Mansell was great. He got a bit unlucky a few times. Also he had to compete against the likes of Senna and Prost. But in the endhe had a great run there in 1992 and 1993.
Need more people like Henry Cejudo who calls himself "Triple C" as had MMA belts in two weight classes and his Olympic wrestling gold. It takes time to master several sports well enough to champion in them at the highest levels. Need someone to put up a few million to anyone who gets to be champion in UFC MMA, Glory KB, One Championship MT, and WBC in Boxing at the same time.
