The Heavyweight division is ALIVE AND KICKING HARD as ever!

For once we agree Heavyweights are ALIVE AND POPPING again Usyk is the best and took out some trash. Fury is… entertaining and does have skills. Zhang has a great story and kind of emerged out of the shadows which is really cool. Jalolov has a ton of potential. Torrez is a good talent. Filip is there too.

Gassiev will stamp his name into the top ranks next. It is a really fun division again.

 

Heavyweights are always exciting if they fight each other.

Zhang brought a lot of excitement back into the division in 2023.

Usyk did his thing, but Fury shat all over the place like a toddler.

 

fury needs to stop fighting MMA guys and fight usyk.
that fight would put the heavyweight division front and center to even the most casual of fans.

Jokes aside, this HW division is full of exciting talents indeed. That's why Fury's stalling and gaslighting is particularly damaging to the division. This era could be a new golden one if the actual fights were made quicker. But the point is, only casuals moan about how dead the division is. It's slow, yes, but it's alive and kicking alright.

 

Winner of Gassiev-Wallin next week is a MAJOR contender. I am hoping for Gassiev, but I like Wallin, and it will depend on how much Gassiev has left from his series of injuries.

 

Heavyweight boxing will be even better once that Bald headed Duck vacates his title and leaves boxing forever.

 

It's only alive and popping if the fights get made......

So far Fury/Usyk is a no go and Fury seems to be retired from boxing and Usyk is on his last legs.

Wilder/Joshua is a no go and Wilder has been inactive and only fought 3 times in 3 years aswell as being 37 years old.

Zhang is 40 and probably doesn't have that long left.

Joyce is 38 and I would gather he is finished at top level.

Ruiz has been inactive and only fought twice in 3 years.

Yeah really popping.....

 

I feel like the winner of the fight this coming Saturday will end up listed in The Ring top 10 of the division. After all, Joyce lost again and Wallin and Gassiev can reasonably be said to be within 11-25 at least. Not saying it'll be right if Joe is dropped, just got a hunch it'll happen in favor of adding one of these guys.

Then again Ortiz is still on there and Whyte only recently got dropped, so who the hell knows. Wouldn't have a problem with Zhang bumping ahead of Wilder and maybe AJ too though. Wilder's been too damn inactive and AJ's most recent performances, while winning ones, show that his star is fading a bit. Zhang's done what neither of them have done in some time, which is convincingly take out someone in the top 10. That deserves a bump or two in my opinion.

Y'know, thinking on it, I wouldn't mind seeing Zhang fight the winner of this weekend. Either guy would make for an entertaining bout.
