The undercard will feature a fight between Trevor Bryan (22-1, 15 KOs) and Cassius Chaney (who sports an identical record).

A reasonable comeback fight for Bryan. And I think Trevor should win it if he's in any kind of shape - not least because I think Chaney no longer has any aspirations of a serious front-line boxing career after losing on points to George Arias last year. And Chaney has never looked like more than a sheep in wolf's clothing, anyhow.

 

Kean's not a total oaf - but Parker's very experienced Kean is basic enough that I don't really see him catching Parker cold. It's definitely now-or-never for Simon, though. He needs to do something to call attention to himself if he's going to be any kind of factor in the HW division. But as I said, I'm doubtful he can pull it off.

I have to disagree about Parker. Although he's little more than a gatekeeper now, my gut tells me that JP will still be fighting when he's 40 and past it.

 

I mean that in the sense that his heart is no longer in boxing anymore, he does the bare minimum to stay relevant. Strikes me as a guy who wants to quit but doesn't know how.

 

If Parker could get some hurt on his punches, a bit more power, throw in combinations , get some heart. He’d be pretty good.

The veteran Takam deserves credit for being willing to face people like Makhmudov and Bakole, both of whom have been avoided.
