1. Holyfield - Still had plenty left, big legacy fight and ended any questions after the draw. 2. Klitschko - The best fighter on the given day on this list, and Lewis was on the decline. Controversial finish keeps it from top spot. 3. Tucker - Gets tougher from 3 onward, could argue about a dozen names but Tucker was an excellent earlier career win that cemented his first belt. Lewis was also the 1st man to put him down (twice), something peak Tyson couldn't manage. 4. Mercer - An important win to tough out, losing would have really pushed his career back in a crowded division that likely didn't want too much to do with him if he didn't have a belt. 5. Tyson - A shell of himself of course, and Lewis probably beat a bunch of guys not on this list that would have beaten this version of Tyson on their respective days, but it was a huge legacy win.
Interesting to see how highly rated Lewis' win over Tucker is. When originally watching the fight, I wrongly branded it as Lennox beating a faded man.
I would not put Vitali on Lewis’s top 5 wins either. Vitali was his best opponent he fought, but the way I look at it is it’s not a good performance by him, it’s not bad, but he was mostly out performed. For instance would you show that fight to someone to show Lewis’s greatness? Holyfield 1 Holyfield 2 Mercer Rahman 2 Tyson
I think the level of performance effects the quality of the win. For instance I rank Holyfield 1 a better win then Holyfield 2, I think Holyfield 1 is a straight up win I don’t care if it was ruled a draw.
