Hello welcome to the forum i like your list alot and think it's pretty spot on. Just to add a fight that you haven't mention i always enjoyed Julian Jackson vs Thomas Tate, that was an awesome fight and very underrated. A rare fight where Jackson goes the distance and has to dig deep to win a decision.
In at no 4 DP. No flies on this poster. He's on it. Like DP says @Thunderlips82, welcome. Great start
I rewatched Hopkins-Mercado 1.Thrilling fight ,but highly controversial.Hopkins wasn’t given credit for two knockdowns.A right hand dropped mercado in round 3 although it may have been with the inside of the glove,a little later the ropes clearly held Mercado up after he was hurt with a punch so a certain knockdown there.Mercado was given credit for two knockdowns. The first was in round 5 a push after a a right hand that stunned hopkins, but hopkins wouldn’t have gone down if he wasn’t pushed. The second knockdown came in round 7,a harmless left hand by Mercado landed,Mercado proceeded to push Hopkins three times then rugby tackle hopkins into the ropes for the knockdown. Despite all those incorrect calls hopkins still won 8 of the twelve rounds and should have been the winner 114-112 it would’ve been considerably wider than that had the referee done his job properly. The executioner was very unfortunate to only receive a ‘draw’ but like the born winner he is he knocked Mercado out in the seventh round in the rematch just like Tyson Fury did against Deontay Wilder.
I think Hopkins won too, Mercado should have had 2 KD's counted but I reckon the 1st Hopkins KD was fair. Not a result that upset me though, Mercado fought like a champ and even managed to turned the momentum his way mid fight. In the end was just a little overmatched against a future all time great.
No worries, was a great fight, maybe 2nd on the list as a pure fight but was just pipped by the greater names and circumstance of the 2 fights just above it.
