Closer fight in your eyes: Norton-Holmes, or Holmes-Witherspoon?

Spoon. I’ve never felt the Norton fight was as close as made out. I think Kenny gets awarded some close rounds through simply being the current champ, just like Ali did against him and Liston did against Ali.

 

As an aside almost everyone that rescored it a while back were surprised to have it a lot closer than they originally did.

 

Well if they didn’t have it that close in the first place they should have stuck with that one.

 

Or maybe you should get off your ass and rewatch!!!!!

I thought Holmes clearly beat Witherspoon he won a majority of the first 6 rounds, and despite Witherspoon coming back and having a strong 9th round. He gave away the later rounds doing an Ali impression, so I thought overall Holmes won in the region of 8-4 or 7-5.

Norton vs Holmes on the other hand was a very close fight and I had Holmes winning by 1 point.

If memory serves, the one judge in the Witherspoon fight had Larry winning 10 of the 12 rounds.

I think Norton vs Holmes was a lot closer, razor thin.

As to Holmes vs Spoon, close UD to Larry and somewhat perplexing that anyone thought it was super close, let alone Timmy winning.

As to Natalia Molchanova, I thought @My dinner with Conteh might’ve been referring to a female adult film star.

You know, “good at holding her breath”? Roger that. I know how to read between the lines.

I looked her up without hesitation and in great anticipation...what can I say? My bad.

 

Norton fight was closer for me but sayin that I've only watched the Spoon fight once... So maybe worth another view.

 

I scored both fairly recently and I think I had Norton closer, however I think my scoring was crap! From memory I felt Larry won both clearly. I seem to remember Tim blew the fight by clowning in the last few rounds showing his inexperience, while Kenny was clearly battling to the last drop of his endurance.
