Does Usyk have less power then the much bigger Wallin?

Wallin hurt Gassiev more severely then anyone ever did at Cruiser.including Usyk.

Walin went in as the B Side and a 70/30 underdog and beat a Top 4 Cruiser of Usyk's era without getting hurt and hurting Gassiev

This is a better win then anyone in Usyk's cruiser era barring Usyk himself

I mean yeah, the simplest explanation is more likely the correct one. Wallin is just a naturally much larger guy than Usyk.

Or maybe it's because Wallin's power barely affected Gassiev, that he got too aggressive, careless and walked into something big that jolted him a bit. Whereas he never even attempted something that with Usyk, because he felt and respected the power of Usyk.

This is the more likely scenario.

Er. Gassiev hasn't been hit on the chin in a real fight in five years and for some dumb reason he decided to come in 22lbs lighter than he did in his previous fight at a weight he hasn't been near in all that time.

Wallin is a light puncher but he's a huge guy and like Usyk did against Gassiev, you know because he followed Usyk's blueprint, he was throwing light punches instead of sitting on his shots and Gassiev walked in and got caught with one of his shots he did sit down on and throw with full power. He was OK though and in no danger of going down.

A 216lb past it version of Gassiev hurt a 22lb heavier Wallin more with a head shot than a 254lb prime Belly did to a 236lb Wallin and let's not forget that much lighter not much heavier Wallin hurt a much heavier prime Belly.

As for Usyk's power. He's obviously primarily a boxer who is looking to outbox his opponents but he can crack a bit when he wants to

Of the six fighters to take him the distance

Briedis has never been dropped, let alone stopped

Gassiev has never been dropped, let alone stopped

Hunter had never been dropped or stopped, the only KD he's suffered was the technical one against Usyk

AJ has only been down against Wlad and Fat Andy as a pro both of whom were much bigger and heavier than Usyk and Fat Andy was much heavier than AJ

Chisora has been knocked out twice and stopped on his feet twice but he's iron-chinned and has fought everyone and he was like 40lbs heavier than Usyk. Haye is the only small guy to stop him and he had crazy power. Belly hasn't been able to drop Chisora in three attempts

Glowacki hadn't been stopped when Usyk fought him but Usyk, like he did against Gassiev, boxed to orders and wasn't trying to get him out of there

Huck, Dubois, Bellew and Mchunu were all stopped

Remember when Usyk knocked the iron-jawed Dave Allen out on his feet in sparring and people were saying it was because Allen's punch resistance was gone? Well a big punching 19st 4lbs Frazer Clarke couldn't hurt Allen like that or even near the other week.

When did Gassiev hurt Wallin? He hit him with some big shots but I never saw Wallin rocked or wobbled. Took them really well.

I said he hurt him more than Belly did with a head shot. Or at least from what I recall of that fight he did. Gassiev rocked Wallin a few times and made his legs do a funny step at least once, but Wallin has a good chin and he was only briefly a little hurt.

Usyk has never been a fighter to rely on "da powa" as opposed to his superb boxing skills.

IDK why there's a breed of boxing fan that thinks that anybody who can't put a hole through a wall is somehow lacking.

Wallin is a massive unit. If he hits you it's going to hurt.

People have seen Wallin's low knockout percentage and despite that they want to portray him as a strong fighter, Usyk has more Power...

I don’t want to take anything away from Wallin because he’s a good dude and deserves his props, but Usyk beat a Gassiev who was on a roll with momentum and who was undefeated. Gassiev has been pretty inactive since.

You're lifting my writing word for word. I'm flattered.

The answer is probably yes. Gassiev allegedly had an iron chin at cruiser but his first serious heavyweight opponent ("featherfisted" 6'4.5, 238 lbs contender Wallin) hurts him more than anyone ever has in a pro fight and has him backing up for 40 seconds.

Funnily enough Eddie Hearn voiced his opinion on this subject shortly after Usyk-Joshua 1. Hearn was asked about the then upcoming Wallin-Whyte fight and Hearn, clearly somewhat shellshocked by Usyk's schooling of the bodybuilder, said something like: "Wallin's a dangerous fight for Dillian. He's a much bigger southpaw than Usyk and probably punches harder". It was a rare moment of honesty.

Wallin doesn't hit hard but he's still a 6'6" 250 pound man who will hurt you if he catches you unsighted.

    Neither are punchers
