Haha broken eye socket for 10 rounds couldn’t stop the guy, once you add the perm he’s virtually indestructible
Yes. Inoue said Wood's the hardest puncher he's shared a ring We know the source of Wood's power is his magical perm We also know Inoue is arguably the hardest puncher in the sport Therefore we can deduce that Inoue with Wood's magical perm would punch freakishly hard for a HW, let alone a 122 pounder and would therefore be unbeatable
Leigh Wood retweeted a fan asking for Inoue vs Wood a couple of months ago, so if there's a highly likely chance that Inoue moves up in 2024, he will probably stay at the weight since he will make 3x fighting in Japan. Then again, Inoue is probably not going to move up until 2025 at the earliest, and Robeisy also named Inoue as his goal fight as well.
Leigh Woods is an absolute warrior and I will eagerly watch any fight he is in. However Inoue is many levels above him in terms of skill and hits just as hard, if not harder. Add Woods chin first defence and Inoue would KO Woods inside 6, probably 3 rounds
Inoue and Wood used to spar. Wood said that the only thing that beats Inoue is size (competing at too high a division).
Wood's moving up to 130 next anyway so fight won't happen anytime soon. Even at 130, I would back Inoue to win though.
Toughest opponent you've faced in sparring? ''Leigh Wood, the current WBA featherweight titleholder, whom I sparred with before the Jamie McDonnell fight, had tremendous punching power and a beautiful forward sloping curly perm. He was really handsome and his perm was magical'' --Nayoa Inoue
