Best version of both. Schmeling wasn't a giant HW, weighing 188-193 in his prime. Who wins?

Scmeling would out-jab Canelo using a 6 inch reach advantage and decent movement.

The Louis that lost to Schmeling would have knocked out Canelo.

I think that the Bivol fight perhaps showed us where Canelo's limits lay.

I think that Canelo probably thought so too, given the fights that he took since then.

Is this a serious question? If you made them the same size Max is still leaps and bounds better as a boxer.

Limits now or always? I think always.

They aren’t that far apart in size. Canelo was reported to weigh 185-188 in the Kovalev fight after rehydration. In his fights at 168 Canelo himself even says he walks around 180.

It’s true Canelo is heavy but I don’t think he’s naturally all that large in the frame and can support it well as a fighter. I believe Jack Johnson was at some points 180-185lbs? Same as Jack Dempsey. While he has the potential to build that mass, remaining muscular in the process, being capable is another question. All men can build about 30lbs give or take of muscle in their lifetime from their starting point.

Mickey Walker clearly didn't get the limits thing, but I would broadly agree, that the cross generations.

True, Canelo is about the same size as Mickey Walker when he fought Max. Didn't turn out so well for him

Canelo is very short though and only has a 70 inch reach, he doesn`t have a jab like Schmeling`s.

Max would bet him up badly ... Scheming could fight.

Canelo is more skilled defensively and offensively, but his limited foot speed and average power could make it hard for him to overcome the size gap. On the other hand, Max wasn’t really much of a jabber. Very interesting matchup

Max had a better jab than Canelo does, he really doesn`t tyhrow the jab much.
