https://boxrec.com/en/event/878901 According to Boxrec, Gurgen Hovhannisyan will be returning on January 4th against Colby Madison. He was supposed to have fought on two separate occasions this year, first against Charles Martin and then Viktor Vykhryst, but both were canceled. Damn shame his entire year went to waste, especially when he was looking to start it with such a big step forward.
Please let this be true. For the love of God, anything but watching Okolie play octopus in yet another title fight
Weights for tomorrow's heavyweight fights: Richard Torrez Jr. 233.1 vs. Tyrrell Herndon 234.8 Guido Vianello 241.3 vs. Curtis Harper 275.5
Kubrat Pulev will face Andrezj Wawrzyk on December 2nd in Chicago. Yup, Andrej is still at it, he even lost last year against some schmuck with a 3 and 4 record, so yeah this won't end up well for him.
Pulev probably hoping to come across as completely shot in the fight, in order to set up a fight against a top heavyweight wanting an easy win against a name.
16 dec, Weihnachtscirkus, Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany: Felix Langberg (13 1 0, 12 KOs) vs Daniel Dietz (11 0 0, all KOs in 1 or 2 rounds) Funny fight for german scene.
Andrezj Wawrzyk hadn't fought in SIX years before he lost the fight to the "schmuck" in 2022, the same guy just went the 10 round distance with Mariusz Wach last weekend. Wawrzyk has a KO 1 win over a 6-2 fighter this year. Wawrzyk had just one career loss (to Povetkin in 2014), was on a six-fight winning streak and was the Polish heavyweight champion when he inexplicably stopped fighting in 2016. I remember at one point Deontay Wilder wanted to fight him, but he tested positive. He's still just age 36.
Wawrzyk's chin is 1 out of 10. It's THAT weak I have watched his early fight vs Aliaksandr Mazaleu (1-11, 0 KOs). Mazaleu almost knocked out Wawrzyk, dropped him hard. Past prime Denis Bakhtov almost knocked him out, too. In fact, I was extremely surprised that Povetkin hasn't knocked him out cold (surely, he stopped him early) But Michal Boloz, 3-4-2 opponent, knocked him out cold with single punch. Wawrzyk can't take a punch and never could.
I remember the Bakhtov fight and Wawrzyk's "dance". Bakhtov was a tough man though, and one of my favorite journeymen. Yes, Wawrzyk although not a bad puncher, has always been chinny. That's why Wilder's handlers wanted him as Deontay's opponent.
In case anyone missed it. Former WBC title challenger Arthur Szpilka is now competing at MMA and recently he knocked out the legendary strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski. What really impressed me is how strong Szpilka is (Pudzianowski grabbed him early but couldn't put him on the floor) This content is protected
