This is what I posted in a similar thread last October. I have Gomez winning this one in a fantastic bout. The one thing lacking from Inoue's resume is quality opposition. It's not his fault. Monster has beaten the best out there but an old and then older Donaire are his toughest opponents. This is not to say Inoue couldn't beat better but I am going to take the guy who's done it over the one who hasn't Gomez by stoppage. My opinion has since changed, not because of Inoue's offense but because of his defense. The Monster is a fantastic defensive fighter which was not Gomez' strong suit. I now favor Inoue by late stoppage.
Too early to say Inoue just got to 122 & fought a light puncher (albeit # 1) Would like to see him fight Tapales, Nery, & MJ to see how he fares against guys who can crack at 122 If forced, I would pick him as I think his defense is better but wouldn't be very confident in my pick I think 15 rounds or 12 won't make any difference here as Inoue can easily go 15 rounds if needed
It's pretty wild that Inoue's hyper front foot offensive and has barely gotten hit in his last few 4 fights.
