This thread has the funk of forty-thousand years within it! And I do not know about hyphenating there, because I just woke up and it looked wrong when I was typing it, for some reason.

 

You ever get like that where stuff just doesn't seem right? Even like ''Tuesday" or something, you know it's probably right, but you also know in your heart that this can't be how you do "Tuesday." I mean, it can't be.

 

Ali took a pratfall to make Elmo look good in his hometown during sparring. Everyone there knew it was part of the show, even Elmo.

Elmo Henderson was the first of four sparring partners in Ali's exhibition in San Antonio in 1972. He arguably out-clowned Ali, but he didn't out-fight him and he certainly didn't knock him out.

Lots of guys who sparred Ali claimed to have a moment with him - everyone probably did at one point or another it is sparring and on a long timeline even journeyman can look good for a few rounds here and there.

Why we talking about Elmo vs. Ali when one of the greatest rivalries of all time was Elmo vs. Rocco?
