I think it would have probably been a 116-112 type of affair, reflecting on it now. At the time, I saw it a bit more like how you've depicted here.

Either way, a shame that politics prevented that one from coming together.

Could be but I'd be quietly confident of Kostya's chances in that one and even more so of Floyd taking a trip to the canvas too. I know I'd get shouted down by all Floyd's fanboys in the prediction threads but I'm a good swimmer and there's more chance of them drowning in their own baba tears than there is of me doing so no matter how many they cry or how deep the water.

I forgot to mention his timing. That would've been a factor too.

I'm the same. I pictured Tim getting exposed at World level for the exact same reasons you expressed but it's not happening and it's not going to happen.
He really doe's deserve a lot of credit and he's got to be a poster boy for genetics playing a part in fighting ability. Kostya was raised and trained in the soviet era from single digit age where as Tim has grown up priviliged (financially) and learned the craft in Australia from grass level roots.

What evidence are you guys using to keep saying that such and such would knock Floyd down? Floyd has a solid chin and would be extra alert for a puncher like Kostya. There is zero chance that Tsyzu catches him with something he wouldn't see coming and at least brace for and I seriously doubt Kostya lands enough follow-up to put Floyd down, even if he shook him up a little.

How do you watch a guy fight for 20 years and not understand what you were seeing?

Floyd potshots to an 8-4 type of fight. No question.

As a massive KT fan I’d be nervous. Floyd is no Zab, and at 140 he was I think his best mix of offense and defense. Hate to say it but levels here, and it would show

Tim "follows his opponents" I would say he walk you down put the mental pressure a very strong fighter learning no to rush pacing himself in other words controlling the fight he is the man at 154 now you are as good as your last fight.

I accept I'd be in the minority but it wouldn't be the first time I've been proven right and proven the majority wrong.

I think have gloves will travel road warrior Tszyu is all wrong for Floyd and he'd stand a good chance of beating him. Like I said, I definitely see that scary accurate right hand homing missile of his detonating on Floyd's jaw and dropping him on his ass.

But truth be told, Floyd would never fight a prime Kostya so it's a match up which could never go beyond the hypothetical

Wishful thinking nothing more. It's always the worst case scenario for pbf and the best case scenario for the other fighter. Pbf always loses fantasy fights but always won real ones funny how that works.

Every fight is different. Look at his last 4 fights.

Went to America and dropped in the 1st round. Got up ff the canvas and brutalised Gausha for 12 rounds.

Tony Harrison fight was a high quality I.Q fought fight by both fighters. Tszyu smashed him. Rocked him several times before killing him in round 9. Hit him with so many bombs, Harrison did well to not go down sooner.

OcAmpo was a one round destruction. 70 odd seconds actually. Knocked him down twice. Brutalised him. Great Defence amongst offense and landed several bombs and avoided them too. Even while a little bit frenzied.

Mendoza fight was a game of chess. Composure. Pressing. Always two steps ahead. We didn't see his usual post out ( measuring his opponent like Kostya also did, using his left arm and hand like a measuring stick, also protects you keeping them at arms length ) Tim's not stupid. He won't keep doing the same stuff all the time. He was calm in the pocket. And had moments where he almost stopped a great, dangerous opponent.

He's not always going to get the K.O. Charlo has a draw with Castano and now a loss vs Canelo. Tszyu is still undefeated. Charlo ran from him for 2 years. That speaks for itself.

No doubt Tszyu possesses all the balls in this matchup, and in his prime has the timing and warriors will to combat the speed. Would have loved to seen it. I’ve always been a cynic, so whenever I’m wrong about something usually that’s a good thing ha ha

Why didn't he have the "warrior's will" to rematch Vince Phillips, who whupped his ass brutally?

Where was this "warrior's will" when he quit against Hatton?

8-4, possibly 9-3. Easy work. The only person getting hurt in this fight is KT.

Floyd isn't losing to a quitter with a ponytail, bro.

Do you see sunlight shining from his rear end too ? lol How anyone can still support him some worship him even, really beats me. When you look at all the help he received, both legal & illegal, his resume has got to be very suspect, not to mention his supposed 50-0 win record. But its your money & your choice but me personally I have little to no respect for him he does nothing for me

What? Lucky punch? You are flat out wrong on that one. Watch it again. KT narrowly missed the same punch seconds before he landed that bomb. But Zab did whoop up on KT in the 1st.

LOL now you say Tsyzu was a quitter with a pony tail now huh? So then what do you call Floyd who was left in tears being caressed & consoled by Ellerbe after Maidana whupped his butt ?? He whined " Maidana beat me up & roughed me up yet the ref did nothing to stop him. It wasn't fair " ROFLMAO. Floyd thought all referees
protected him like Cortez did a Mother hen does her chick. He was called on to get down & fight & he wasn't man enough to do it. Kenny Bayless stepped in for the rematch to protect him lol The highlight of that fight was the girlish scream from Floyd "He bit me " ROFLMAO
