Show us where Mike Tyson claims that he knocked Lewis out. As far as I know, he never has. If it did happen, Mike himself not attesting to same is rather strange, no? Reverse the situation, based on what you’ve linked, would you so readily believe that Lewis KO’d Mike? Everyone was “tailor made” for Mike until several proved that they weren’t. Upon those actual proofs, enter damage control and Mike being sub par on the day.
At least we know why Mike never sparred with Buster Douglas. Figured Big Bus would have knocked him slap out.
If they had sparred and that did happen, there would’ve been an elaborate story woven by way of circular reasoning to explain why Mike wasn’t Mike on the day.
I know a guy who tells me Greg Page was suffering from a nasty hangnail the day he knocked down Tyson, but he didn’t want to make excuses so he got Mike out of there quickly before it became a problem.
Ironically blind devotees like yourself do far more damage to Tyson than good. You've found a story that says your god sparked Lewis so you've blindly accepted it and forced it upon multiple people in here without so much as a thought. Egan is/was Tyson's mutual mancrush and the two fawned over each other regularly. Christ, Egan's book has Tyson on the cover with him and his Egan description of "toughest white man on the planet". He sparred, trained and lived with Tyson for years. He makes money as a boxing speaker, like, um, hello embellishment. He's a convicted thieving criminal for heavens sake, but hey, lets believe him There are numerous accounts of that session and it's non knockout but they'd be no good to a worshipper like yourself. Anyone with a modicum of common sense would have baulked at Egan's claim Lewis was unconscious for 5 minutes not to mention Tyson and co themselves never claiming any KD let alone a 5 minute KO. Jesus Christ Some media for anyone actually interested in real world happenings....boring i know - The Lewis response about Egan's fiction https://www.ringnews24.com/2018/04/...ne-sided-sparring-session-against-mike-tyson/ Lewis and Tyson interviewed about their get together This content is protected Boehm's comments which mirror almost everyone's https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/1488720/mike-tyson-lennox-lewis-mass-brawl-stunning-ko/ Tom Patti was there and training and said this about Egan's story - Actually not true at all. I was living in the house and training with Tyson during those years when Lennox came to live and train with us on two different occasions. While Mike most certainly had better defensive skills Lennox had courage, strength, guts and skills enough to train with Mike without getting laid out. Next!
Why would Mike knocking out Lewis in sparring means he beats him 100% of the time in fights? It's a sparring session, it means little to nothing. Mike himself was getting knocked out by journeyman in sparring before he went to prison. Is that prove he was incapable of fighting at the top level? Obviously not, it's sparring. You have peaking periods for a reason.
Tom Patti said Tyson dominated every single round. As for Tyson, he's being polite as always. And he's smart enough to know that bragging about KO'ing Lewis in sparring will nothing bring anything good for him, on the contrary it will just make him look and bitter.
Tyson being polite? He wanted to eat Lewis’ children, didn’t he and he ended up starting a fight and biting Lewis at the presser at any rate. Lol. Just prior to fight Lennox, if the sparring KO was real, Mike might’ve said, (even if only to get into Lewis’ head) “I KO’d you in sparring and I’m gonna KO you again”. Call me crazy but how about Tyson was being honest and didn’t BS, while these “witnesses” were/are embellishing big time?
But that's the thing about ye old almanac Definitely True Gym Tales, Pugs, as even the participants don't know its vast secrets.
Sparring is sparring, even if Tyson came out and said i knocked Lewis out, 5 journeymen sparring partners would come out of the woodwork and claim(perhaps rightfully so) that they knocked Mike out. Again who cares? What relevance does it have? Tyson developed far faster than Lewis. I heard Ronnie Shields say Corrie Sanders beat the crap out of Tyson so hard for 4 rounds that 10 mins later Tyson forgot he had sparred at all and tried to get back in the ring afterwards.
