The outcome of [url]Tyson Fury[/url]’s [url]split-decision victory[/url] over former UFC champion [url]Francis Ngannou[/url] has proved controversial - but the punch stats from the heavyweight crossover fight have revealed a different story.

Fury [url]survived a knockdown[/url] and avoided the first loss of his professional career when he was named a split-decision winner – 94-95, 96-93, 95-94.

Ngannou, was making his boxing debut [url]yet outfought Fury [/url]for much of the bout, as a stunned audience looked on in Riyadh.

The 37-year-old former UFC champion was a massive underdog in the main event in Riyadh but produced a superb performance with immense discipline and aggression, and many figures in the world of boxing declared that the “Predator” had been denied a rightful win.

But while Ngannou scored more power punches than his opponent – including with his stunning knockdown in the third round, clipping Fury on the top of the head with a fine left hook – stats have revealed that it was the “Gypsy King” who landed the most punches during the 10-round contest.

In any case even if Furys win was poor but not controversial as one can think he would have few chances to beat Usyk.

Imo today his chances to beat Usyk are around 30%.

I think Francis is a tough guy with a good punch and good assimilation of blows... but even though he has some basis in boxing because the guy was training all this time and his beginnings were in boxing which gives him a good base to debut... his performance against Tyson does not tell us how good he is as a boxer... I can say that he is a decent fighter but nothing fierce that we did not see before, which is why I think his boxing career is not It will be so long... in fact I think he could be defeated by the top 10 ranked... there is a lot of enthusiasm to see him fight and that makes me happy but the fans of the ufc are deceived and they will soon discover it and become disenchanted

He's good. Good foot work, good counter punching , heavy hands and very strong inside game.

From his UFC we know he has a very good chin, when he fought Stipe, who had the most title defences and the longest ko streak in the UFC, he gassed in the first round and got battered for 5(5min rounds) straight , but his chin held up and he toughed it out.

But he's abit slow, has a slow pace and leaky defence. Averaging 23 punches per round is very low, basically he needs a KO to beat anyone in the top 10 other wise he just gets outworked.

He can be a good top 30-40.

 

He's big and strong with a decent understanding of the fundaments while being in a good shape. That gets you in the top 20 at HW.

 

Prime Fury against Wlad who put on a clinic, how would he have fared against Ngannou? Would Fury still get whooped and hit the deck, or would he keep Francis on the end of his jab and feint him all the way back to the UFC

He’s already a champion. He doesn’t need to prove anything in boxing.

Anything he does now is a bonus. He’ll make more well deserved money.

Anyone not familiar with his story, checkout
his migration story. He’s a real life movie character. And in my opinion his story ended when he gave the hw champion a knockdown and shocked the world. That’s usually the ending of the movie.

I don’t really care if he loses his next fight which will be a boring decision loss if it happens. He has his contract with PFL. He can get a fight with Jones in a cross promotion, or face Wilder in mma.

 

Timing as far as starting in Boxing this latre in the game would not be in his best interest. Sure he has the hands,power, I am sure he do all the things boxers do when he's training for a MMA fight,would knock out some heavyweights, However, to be a top performer on a championship level he would have to have an amount of amateur bouts under his belt, it would have to be second nature to him the movement, boxing fancese you just don't get because you were good In a particular sport it takes time.hey but the man is a great athlete.
