Because the Usyk-Wilder fight didn't happen... and a mandatory got called and he had to fulfill it to keep the belt (and therefore keep undisputed available for the bigger payday and legacy).

I don't consider it fair to pin any ducking on Usyk.


Just look at the two men:
- On the one hand you have a fighter that's fought almost entirely on the road, fought numerous contenders, chased (and made) unification fights, fought murderous punchers and risked his reputation by moving up a weight category and making a fight with the most proven (not necessarily best, but best proven) fighter in the division after only a couple of previous fights at the weight...
- On the other hand you have a guy that almost exclusively fights with home privilege, has only ever fought one contender (and lost 2 out of 3, a gifted "draw" being the only reason it's not 3/3), made no attempt to unify with a bang average champion, got chased for undisputed by a unified champion and ducked him, also ducking multiple contenders who wanted to fight him and has never faced a serious puncher, let alone a murderous one.

Now when you try to make a fight between two guys with the records above... And it doesn't happen... Which one is more likely to be the one that's ducked it?

Cmon, it's not rocket science to see that the common factor in Wilder not having fought a single legit contender besides Fury is Wilder himself.

 

It's down to the ref. That's how close it was. I watched Crawford-Benavidez on youtube.. Benavidez landed on that spot constantly.. ref said nothing. It was almost a perfect bodyshot- hardly egregious low blow.

If the story had been reversed, the Usyk faithful would be saying "clean blow!" That's how close that was.

 

I didn’t really like the situation either. Imagine if Usyk landed the same shot in the exact same area??? It would’ve been a ko win for him easy. I also thought it was suspicious that Usyk kept telling the ref that almost every body shot was low after everything occurred. Think we just saw Usyk take a little advantage of being A side. That being said, I agree with the others on this thread who claim that Usyk would’ve simply gotten up if the ref started counting and resume the Dubois pummeling.

Fury didn’t get hit in doze nutz.

He copped a 100% legit, whack upside of the head and went down like a big sack of, not so fertile, Gypsy manure. There was nothing he could complain about.

It seems that Fury must have a stipulation in his contract to be allowed at least 23-24 seconds to recover after each and every knockdown he suffers. As such, they’re not long counts per se, they’re simply “Fury” counts.

Olek was hit low, and it was one of several low blows that Dubois threw during the bout - before and after the flagrant foul in question.

Team Usyk might want to have a closer look at the contracts’ finer print, to scan for any other special provisions - like, say, the one-way allowance of elbows.

 

Lewis’ KO of Rahman in the rematch was one of Lennox’s most impressive ATG performances for mine. A real stunner from go to whoa and I was very happy for him. H2H, based on that performance, that Lewis would be extremely hard (impossible?) for anyone to beat.

 

Dubois really showed Fury how to deal with Usyk. Punch him in the dick!

 

Even when he dreams of it , usyk is simply not able to reach his navel button with his dick !

 

Such body shots usually rely on how it is interpreted by the referee, so Usyk was lucky this time. Actually not really, since he was fighting in Poland and was the champion, so such a decision was expected.

But what i mean is that, even in neutral territory, that could be interpreted differently according to the referee.

And if people really want to be rigid about the rules, Usyk's belly button wasn't visible when Dubois landed his body shot. I don't mean before or after, i mean when Dubois actually landed his body shot. That being said, he completely outclassed Dubois outside of this controversy.

 

Getting KO'd by Dubois is nothing like getting KO'd by Ngannou.

Fury is lucky he got a 20 second count again.

 

Why do Fury fans pretend Fury is unbeaten when I saw John McDermott beat him handily.
