Exactly. I understand the mindset but its horrible for boxing. If you don't reel in a big one, you're out in the cold. Not everyone can sit on their ranking for years and get a payout like Yildirim.

Is he terribly advised or terribly unlucky?

He’s been terribly advised in this case and makes you wonder if SJam are struggling without Sam Jones. If he took and won the Akhmedov fight he would have had another one then likely been in an interim worl title fight against berlanga later this year. He’s now stuck in the who needs him club and needs to sign with someone who will get him up the rankings asap.

if it was me I’d start trash talking berlanga and r zach Parker immediately but he needs a few run outs first. By the time he’s done that it’ll be another year.

He would be better off fighting anyone this Saturday to get out. His management should pay a purse for someone like Sheamus Devlin etc to give him 4-6 Rounds. Just get out and back in the ring. Cancelling the fight outright is just another set back l

Can't believe he declined the offer to fight Akhmedov as a co-main event to Canelo vs GGG III. Now with Wasserman, hopefully he can gain some momentum. I believe they may look to make Lyndon Arthur vs Lerrone Richards in 2024.

Yeah not a massive fan of his. I'm sure he'll have a few fans out there impressed with his skill, but like you, I find him very boring to watch.

I actually believe that many in this forum care and wish all the best for Lerrone Richards. At least I do.

The problem is that he doesn't have the right psyche for professional boxing. It's a shame because Richards is an incredibly talented and skilled boxer.

Promoters are passing him around like a unwanted parcel lol. No one wants to promote boring fighters.

The trouble is we’ve had years of people like Steve Bunce going on about fighters needing a hard 10 rounds in learning fights when in reality a fighter that builds up a long run of knockouts gets everybody interested. Would anyone rather watch a fighter who is 20-0 with 2 KOs than one who is 20-0 with 18 KOs ?
