For fun I wanted to see who in the history of the fight game you think could be the hypothetical H2H best win Floyd could pull off and which fighter could inflict the worst defeat on him? Obviously focusing on fighters who fought at the same weights Floyd won titles at but any era welcome. Expanding on your choices of the whys would be good to.

So for example you may think SSR could be a winnable fight for Floyd and the best scalp he could claim and that Hearns may inflict the worst defeat on Money from all the greats of the past.

    Thanks!

I think floyd could beat hagler on a good night over 12 rounds.
Obviously the first thought is that Hagler is too big and strong and ko's him.
But is he? Hagler was like 5'8,5 and struggled with Durans skills. He was a small middleweight by todays standards with the weigh ins being same day back then.
If he fought now he would be a welter or light middle perhaps that rehydrated on fight night.

I still favour my favourite fighter mmh though but I could see a Floyd upset.

Worst os Thomas Hearns. He would get s brutal beat down and gets stopped.

I think Floyd is a bad stylistic matchups for most greats he'd come across below middleweight. I don't think anyone truly perfected the philly shell as well as he did. That being said, this doesn't mean I'd favour him in those fights. He has a chance of pulling off an upset against SRR in their first encounter as Turpin did, but he'd crumble in a rematch. I actually think LaMotta might be a worse stylistic matchup for Floyd than both Robinson and Hagler, despite definitely being less highly rated than both.

Floyd wouldn't get in the ring with Hagler without a .357 magnum

Especially when a .357 magnum is to big and with too much recoil for Floyds small brittle hands. He would be better off using an Escorts pocket pistol.

Well to be fair Floyd fought at the high weight of 154 but never really got to that weight even when he fought there.Hagler was a 160 pound middle weight & to me the 2nd greatest md of all time.

I think Floyd was a good boxer but hard to tell just how good he was,as when he did fight top boxers they were always well past their prime. When he fought Pacquaio a fight that should have happened 7 years earlier but he did everything for the fight not to happened, great boxers who believe in them self's seek the best out,but only took the fight when he saw Pacquaio had slowed down at 36,Pacquaio style is for the young. He fought Mosely who was 39 & hurt Mayweather badly in the second round but at 39 didn't have the reflexes, endurance or desire to finish up.He beat a 35 year old Oscar in a close fight. Most think he lost to a prime Castillo & copy box records show he lost. Castillo landed 203 punches to Floyd's 157.Castillo landed 40% of his punches to Floyds 35%.Castillo was the one coming forward all night.?????You only find out who the truly best is when you are young & the person you fight is young.

Hearns at 147 would have knocked floyd cold.Mosley seriously hurt Floyd with a right hand & Hearns right would have ended him.Lets not forget Hearns was 6'1 with a huge reach & quick reflexes & even though Floyd was a great defensive fighter at 5'8 he would not be able to defend against Hearn's.Almost every big named boxer Floyd fought was well past their prime.

Hagler was 5'9 & a half. Was a middle weight his whole life (a division Floyd never fought at) He fought & defeated Hearns who is considered P4P one of the hardest punchers in boxing history. He scored a 3rd rd ko in what has been ruled the greatest middle fight of all time.He had a tough fight against Duran a P4P great & won a 15 rd decision.Hagler was also south paw & Floyd had problems with south paws.Hagler in his prime beats Floyd easily.Hearns KOs Floyd. When Floyd does fight big named fighters they always seem to be past their prime why is this.Pacquaio was 36 Oscar 35 & Mosley 39.Castillo was 29 & most believe he beat Floyd & copy box numbers also say this 203 punches l;anded for Castillo to 157 punches landed for Floyd.Floyd landed 35% of his punches & Castillo 40% of his punches landed.Castillo was the one coming forward all night. This is what happens when 2/3 Judges are from 3rd world Countries.Leonard,Hagler,Hearns,Duran,Pryor & Arguello had lost on their record because they all fought each other in their prime & in some cases the same fighter 2-3 times. Its hard to Judge Floyd because of this.Had he fought & defeated Pacquaio in his prime & won just him alone & I might have a different opinion.Do give Floyd credit for beating Castillo 2nd fight.

I feel Mayweather may struggle with Napoles (slick even for Money), Aaron Pryor (just sheer work rate), Gavilan (too quirky), Chavez (like Castillo but better). Thoughts?

The best he could beat imo is Chavez. While the worst is Tommy Hearns. The Hitman was always just the worst possible matchup for Floyd, even Roger said so

The key with Hearns is his hand speed. This is a guy who’s just taller and a big puncher. Hearns had the speed to match Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather vs Mike McCallum at 154 would be an extremely defensive and likely boring fight . Probably hard to judge as well
