There's really not many imo, but who are the Middleweight s that stand a great shot, at beating Prime Hagler?

Monzon and Greb, obviously, but while I think Hagler is the greater middleweight, I think Robinson has a great shot at beating him. Great chin, great speed, power, intellect......I see Ray flurrying and keeping Hagler off-balance enough to take a decision.

other than greb, monzon and robinson who are the obvious pics there are a few others who would be a tough stylistic challenge.
dick tiger - if hagler would mostly box and move he could pretty easily beat tiger, but if he decides to go to war with him like he did against mughabi he would be in for a long night
emile griffith - could frustrate hagler keeping the fight awkward and close wherever it goes
bernard hopkins - his hit and clinch style could greatly annoy hagler and added with his size advantage could get him a close win on the cards
mike mccallum - can give a real fight to hagler at any range
charley burley - exactly the kind of fighter who would give hagler fits trying to catch him clean
sergio martinez - his in and out boxing style could give hagler serious trouble

    RJJ
    Nunn
    Hopkins
    SRR (maybe)
    Monzon

I don't favor anyone else. Griffith did well in the 2nd fight against Monzon but Monzon wasn't quite a physical fighter who used his size, except his range, all that much. Post-Duran Hagler probably won't make the same mistake twice.

    Golovkin

    Burley

I don't favour all these boxers to beat Hagler but they would all pose tough challenges.

    Possibly?

That's a very long list IMO.

Damn when you put it this way, you really see just how freaking stacked Middleweight is.

All odds dependent Fergy! The only people I'd look at for even money would be Ray Robinson.

Carlos Monzon. Still would be a fight, but I think Carlos does enough to edge Marvin.

Because in large portions of the world, your average young man (if fit and lean) would be around MW. There's a wider pool to pick from than, say, HW.

By this logic, if boxing were to get bigger in Asia, LW or thereabout would become ungodly stacked. The potential amount talent that's probably working a field or a factory right now somewhere in China is unreal.

I'd never be confident betting against The Sugar Man.
Knowing what he can pull out the bag.

    Monzon I think could, mate.
I think it really comes down to styles in that fight.
Greb and Hagler, jeez can you imagine those two butting heads!

Marcel Cerdan isn't mentioned a lot nowadays but that guy was an animal in the ring. He would've been tough for any middleweight, Hagler included.
