Most menacing boxer: Tyson or Holyfield?

    Tyson obviously scared more people, but that was more due to his reputation, and the idea of what he might do to someone, as well as his more destructive nature. Appearance wise though, Tyson never looked as menacing as Holyfield did in their staredown during their rematch. He looked like death. 19:30.

    That was indeed a very good staredown. You can tell from that alone Holyfield had put in the work and was ready.

    Holy was borderline terrifying during the Tyson II staredown, but in general he seemed like a pretty good natured dude imo.

    Yea I don’t think Holyfield was scary per se. he was however someone you couldn’t scare which was frightening in of itself. Also while he was always a great fighter his insane competitiveness really really showed in rematches and he became almost machine like.

    Great post and I'm with you. I rate Holy #4 ATG because he was such an incredible Warrior, like Ali in that aspect. At times he was near supernaturally Great (for instance the ridiculously tight knockout of Douglas, the first fight with Bowe, Tyson I...and I daresay II).

    19:07 To me Holyfield always looked like what a HW boxing champ should look like when he kind of half smirk/half grins like this. He knows he's the man. He knows that you know he's the man. He knows that if you don't know he's the man, you're about to learn.

    All that said, Tyson had a scary rep and talked some evil **** at that time.

    Then again, Mike dropped his eyes during that staredown.

    So whats all that mean? What's my answer?

    Holyfield was much more of a warrior than Tyson but as for who was more feared or intimidating, that’s just a daft question, obviously Tyson
