Calzaghe doesn't want any part of a sharper, younger, hungrier Byron Mitchell. He all too well remembers being planted once by a strong right hand.

You missed off the second part of the quote.

"...but I would certainly be interested in making a fat pile of cash in front of a packed home crowd!"

This is just a wind-up. Calzaghe is **** at it, he goes through the motions. It's boring. If you drag every stupid thing Joe says between now and what promises to be an interesting fight you're going to be busy, Capfunds.

Calzaghe did the same thing with Hopkins calling him Popkins and got dropped in the first round.

    I hope Roy discombobulates him.

As opposed to Pavlik, who has never been a great fighter, never will and isn't the best fighter in his own division.

Joe Calzaghe is doing this for the integrity of boxing. He knows Pavlik needs to stop running from Arthur.

Calzaghe is NOT prime. No way in hell is he prime now if you really believe that you can't have been watching him long.

By the way I feel a lot of people are underestimating Jones in this one. I've followed Calzaghe since day 1 and his lack of punching power these days is a bit worrying. He still has that amazing ability to adapt midway through the fight and still has his amazing stamina but he's clearly in decline for me after being there for the Hopkins fight.

Maybe you don't understand boxing. Calzaghe has boxed his finest matches within the last 3 years. And this against his stiffest opponents. He is smarter now, more experienced, and he havent lost much of his physical attributes.

I can see you are basing you assessment from the Hopkins match alone. Bernard made it difficult for him to perform, but he still won decisively.

PS I have 13 gb of fights of him - and yes I feel he is better now overall, but you are entitled to your opinion.

Word up. I'd be really pissed about this fight with B Hop if i wasnt such a big B Hop fan. But the man is old news, Pavlik was supposed to come and unify, apparently he lost interest in that. Its sad to see that money means so much more than supremacy in boxing these days.

When your Chin is as bad as Roy Jones even a feather fisted fighter like Glen Johnson can knock you out cold. If Glen Johnson could KO Jones and his Glass Jaw no doubt Calzaghe can also. :deal

Realize that you're quoting from the same mother ****er that thinks both those guys would beat Pavlik.

Yeah man, the mother ****er doesn't just think like SLOTH, he looks like the mother ****er too.
