Not a fan of either but I think Haney will win, so will probably favour him as I think he's a more complete fighter.

But would be kind of funny if Haney outboxed him but ended up getting robbed on the cards. That would amuse me, given what happened with his fight with Loma.

I remember saying something similar when Juan Diaz fought Marquez, I loved both guys but thought Diaz win would be better for boxing then it turned out to be fight or the year, Marquez went on to do many more great things after that too lol. I like both Prograis and Haney and im actually quite looking forward to this one :D

I dont see the weight thing as that much of an advantage in comparison to height and reach advantage. Between weigh in and fight night the only extra weight gained is water and unless theres a significant amount of clinching and leaning it doesnt reall play a par imo. Prograis has a good engine on him so leaning and clinching wont affect him too much and he has decent timing so I think if Haney tries to grab too much he could be made to pay. I genuinely cant pick a winner here lol

what similarities? styles are different. their respective strengths are different. one is from louisiana and the other from bay area ca. one is a smarmy, irritating upper middle class kid. the other appears a bit more gritty and genuine.

    how are they similar?

They're similar in the only the thing that matters, willingness to fight the best.

That's the most important facet in boxing and it explains why so many are a fan of both boxers.

Prograis is good, no doubt. Is he really the best between 135 and 147? I like Rougarou and he is willing to fight the best, but I don't think many would pick him over Teofimo. Or Tank. Why will Haney not rematch Lomachenko even? Little...old...thrice defeated now...Lomachenko?

I refute the notion that Haney is courageous.

In Haney's last two fights he faced Kambosos and Lomachenko, they were literally the two highest ranked opponents he could have faced.

He's now moved up and is facing Prograis in his first fight at LWW and obviously we hope the winner faces the winner of Teo/Matias. Would we expect Loma to beat Prograis at 140? I'm not sure I would tbh so this fight is definitely a challenge.

And then if we look at Prograis, he took part in the 140 tournament so was obviously willing to face the best, he came up short but in a really close fight. Since then his opposition has been sketchy, but Zepeda was a good fight and demonstrated a willingness to make another run for the top imo. Now obviously Haney isn't the best between 135-147 so I understand the notion that Prograis isn't being very courageous taking this fight as opposed to chasing Teo, but as I said previously, hopefully the winner of this will try to fight the winner of Teo/Matias.

But the fact these two are even fighting each other is something we should celebrate. It takes two to tango and they're both tangoing.

First I was routing for Prograis but I think Haney will win.

Now 90% starting to get behind Prograis to see Haney lose because he beat Lomachenko it is starting to get annoying.

I always have this thing when a thing becomes too popular I start to dislike it. So now I want Haney to win.

I like Prograis and want him to win. I don't think he will. I think Haney is a terrible style for Regis.
Even though it's Haney making the jump in divisions, I think Prograis sometimes gets a bit cute. Haney will keep his fast jab in Prograis face all night long.
I also think the way Regis double jabs his way in from a mile away won't work. Haney will either run, hug or counter.
I think Haney is better for the experience of fighting Loma whereas I feel Prograis hasn't been quite the same since WBSS
