Who decides when the weigh-in's will be? & can one side object to 30 or 36 hour weigh-in's & insist on the supposed standard of 24 hours

Was this weigh-in against Prograis also 36 hours?

Little surprise. This sort of stuff is going on regularly in most weight divisions.

I'm not sure to be honest but OG Bob has been in the game 1000 years and he should've done everything in his power for his fighter Loma to ensure it was the standard 24 hour one when it's a fight vs the biggest 135 ever and the smallest 135 in the division. I knew they were going to rob Loma if he deserved to get his arm raised but when I heard they moved the weigh in forward that much I couldn't believe what I was seeing and I was all but certain it was going to be rigged.

Which means he's probably almost 175lbs right now.. let that sink in.. I've said it many times before, Fighters today exploit the 24 hour hydration loophole to ridiculous lengths.. with the aid of a clever team around you & 'diuretics' you can get down to divisions that 40+ years ago you'd have no chance of making.. weight grifting is every bit as much of a problem in boxing as PEDs & corrupt judging is.. no one seems to acknowledge it tho.. I don't know why because it almost makes the weight divisions redundant when you can just pick and juice.. sorry, choose.. its also tantamount to watching a fake fight to some extent.. Haney is walking around at 175lbs yet has somehow been fighting LWs.. why do people think this is ok? You really feel good about your hero getting gift decisions over midgets even tho he dwarfs him? That makes you feel superior does it? LOL.. P4P List is fake as fk.. Crawford, Haney, Spence.. these guys are walking around the same size as Bivol if not more

Weigh in should be the morning of the fight.

People that talk about how it's fine because it's in the rules and if you can make the weight then hey-ho, dksab. Overcoming height, length/reach, width, chin, stance, boxing style, speed, etc. can be done with styles, overcoming someone with 5kg on you is significantly more difficult. That is an actual weight class bigger (or 2 if you make the size differential relative to the weight class).

If you've boxed at the amateur level, not even top level, you feel the difference of 5kg - how less effective your punches are, how much harder your opponents punches are, how much more fatigued you get because of this.

Dehydrating and rehydrating 18% over the weight limit doesn't sound bad, but when you break it down by kilos/lbs, it's mental... 11kg / 25 lbs over 24-36 hrs. My own weight fluctuates throughout the day between 1-2 kgs, it's not out of the question that an elite athlete can fluctuate more extremely, but this is taking the biscuit.

Screw Haney and his cheap ass popps.

This explains a lot. Haney has skill, is talented to a degree, but he’s not an elite fighter in any way. His weight is what has kept him from being stopped twice now.

Of course there is.. if there's a 20lb disparity between the two fighters on fight night (which happens often) then you're seeing a mismatch.. That why weigh ins were the same day once upon a time.. you weighed in hours before the fight at the division weight , you knew a WW was a WW.. you didn't rehydrate to SMW like Haney just did.. Weight grifting is a thing.. some fighters choose to do it & some fighters have integrity & don't need judges & 20lbs to *beat old midgets

A shot Linares had him giving him running bear hugs for the last 3 rounds just to survive with the ref looking the other way to protect huggy Haney

I don't know what went on behind the scenes but the deck was heavily rigged in Haney's favour, to the extent that it seemed like everything was done to ensure Haney got the W. I'm mad at Loma's team too

Would you say MMA/wrastling have very similar training methods to boxing? Reason I ask this is because I presume that BMIs and fat %s of boxers is already very fine/small during their fight camp compared to wrestlers/MMA fighters with such a huge focus on cardiovascular endurance/stamina..
