    When Ali suffered a shocking loss vs Leon Spinks, the rematch triggered one of the belts to go to Ken Norton, the Fighting Marine. Norton had defeated Ali once before. Fighting Norton for that belt was Larry Holmes, the Easton Assassin, who had been a sparring partner of Ali and had incorporated a lot of the butterfly's style into his own. Now Ali's protege would face the man who had cracked his jaw.
