Saw clips of Brook sparring the other day and he looks ****ing huge. He ain't doing anything under 160 if not a little higher.
I can see why Benn is pissed with Eddie tbf. Assuming a lot of his actions were after advice from Hearn which seems likely, he's been given woeful advice. But the easiest option would have been to just not have PEDs in hisnsystem
Agree, this was my point the other day. Benn's entire working life has been stage-managed by Matchroom, a low-risk series of fights building up to PPV (baby) money. It would come as no surprise if he expected Hearn to blow this PED charge out of the way (and that Hearn was big-headed enough to think it would work).
Benn has spent a hell of a lot of money following advice that he was told would get all of this swept under the carpet. Not only has that advice left most boxing fans convinced he's definitely guilty, it's made the fight, that was meant to recoup that money in, a nightmare to make. It's no coincidence the rumours of trouble between him and Hearn have surfaced at the exact time that he's meeting with the likes of Jordan without Hearns knowledge. Jordan is probably hammering home that point that he's been terribly advised. As others have said though, don't fail two drug tests in the first place then it makes life a lot, lot easier.
Yep, he should have just come clean and taken his ban like an adult, however we must note that to behave like one he would need brain cells and it’s unlikely he’s got many of them in his ignorant melon.
That is the whole problem. The hopeless way Eddie Hearn and Matchroom have handled this matter has made it far worse for Conor Benn. I don't think we'll see Conor Benn boxing in the U.K. anytime soon.
Made me laugh listening to Jordan saying Benn was a nice kid and also very intelligent. He hides it well under his arrogant, surly, thick ******* persona
It's quite easy to think Hearns had this situation on occasions before this and no one ever found out. So Hearn just thought the same would happen again. Barring Eubank Snr leaking it we would have never known about this.
Exactly my thoughts. Hearn thought his 'gift of the gab' PR spinning would get the public believing anything he wanted them to. Not on this occasion though.
So now it's off, realistically who's next in line for Benn? US fight against a nobody before getting Kell Brook out of retirement for a summer fight?
