Marciano vs. Loughran

Charles gave Rocky a good fight, how does Loughran do? The Philly Phantom did have a fair amount of success at HW.

 

Rocky would be happy to take those jabs to get close and punish the body.Tommy really would not have anything to hold him off with
Rocky would look like a clumsy oaf, until the roof caved in on him.

 

From the footage, I’m not sold on Loughran

Yes. That about covers that fight.

 

He doesn’t look as fluid as his reputation would suggest. He looks a little slow and not fluid while boxing. (I am considering this judging by his reputation as this great slick “virtuoso”)

 

His jab is pinpoint accurate and his distance judgment seems great. I give you that much…

 

And this above is probably more important than being fluid…

 

Loughran would give Marciano problems no doubt, but he probably goes the way of all the other technicians that he faced.

loughran loses by ko, prob ahead on points but he loses by ko.

charles is one of the greatest ever for a reason, loughran isn't, no disrespect to him.

 

Could you see Loughran make it to the final bell like Charles did first time around?

 

I agree with the majority, I can see Tommy giving Rocky a few frustrating rounds but it would end up badly for him.

 

And I think Loughran looks wonderful on film.

 

Yes I could, albeit I wouldn't bet on it.

Loughran had a pretty solid jaw, and despite his lack of power, he was happy to mix it up with punchers if the situation dictated.
