Brilliant submission victory over Ivan Salaverry at UFC85(I think? may have been 84...) He's a 5'8 tank who can take Silva down, and if he he does is way baetter on the ground. however I feel he'll struggle to take Hendo down and will be KO'd. Hendo will beat Silva :deal
GSP is not too basic, what the ****, he has trying every strike in the book in his career. And excuse me, but if Travis Lutter can take Silva on the ground without being knock out, in the first round, guess what GSP will do? Lutter was in a fatty shape, didnt do weight, and did take Silva down. I don't get the GSP would get severly owned on the feet, bla bla bla. So what? is this a standing fight? GSP would get severly owned on his back vs BJ, so? Anyway, this fight will likely happen one day, I hope, so we are gonna see. And LOL to the zero sucess to GSP with any top notch fighter. He did held his own pretty good vs BJ Penn, who is a top notch striker:goodTake away the eye poking , and could had been a 10-10 round, but BJ did take it, but that wasnt a 10-8 rounds for BJ...
I like GSP's chances against Silva as well. I think he is one of the few fighters within the nearby weight classes that could give Silva a challenge.
I just watched some of Toquinho's fights on Youtube and I am impressd. I didn't realize he was with the Brazilian Top Team. Mario Sperry has brought us some great fighters over the years. This guy's foot locks are unbelievable. He actually stands a chance of catching Henderson with one of those. He shoots for submissions smoothly and hooks them very quickly. This should be a great fight.
I would have to say GSP, although not because of technique or skill. I think if anyone beats Silva, they will do it by exsplosive pressure and keeping Anderson busying defending. That or some-one who can sub him before getting knocked out.
IMHO, GSP is in no way "basic". I have never seen so many variations of the super man punch come from one fighter. He has a sort of super man kick where he leaps foreward with a left jab and then comes with a right kick. It's very impressive.
Weird list, if he came into the fight in the right shape, and it was at LHW then Shogun could **** Anderson up pretty badly.
I hate to say it or make an excuse because its not, its just reality, that kick was pretty lazy and more like a jabkick, probing to find range maybe but lazy non the less. I think I could have caught that one.
