Conlan lacks power & with his chin now appearing gone I think it's best he retires. Only reason not to is he can still sell out arenas.

I thought Conlan should have fought at superbantam-never seemed big enough at feather or super feather.

What I would say about him is he was extremely skilled and defintely would have no doubts about him being on PEDs during his career.

He lacks power but man, is he one heck of an awesome boxer. He's a star due to his incredible skills. I am just blown away by his technique every time I watch him. Dude is a superstar and for sure he will be remembered decades on as one of the genius boxers of all time when it comes to that. Regarding drugs, well, sure, he is a pro athlete. Are you suggesting that some of these top guys aren't using? Come on, man.

Since Benn was exposed as a multiple drugs failure, there have been a few fighters underperforming since including Cordina, Conlan, Joshua, Tyson Fury and Okolie examples that are fresh in the mind.

Leeds bought a mega firm to Villa in 2000 for a Sunday Cup game and there was a proper row on a pub car park, fence posts, advertising boards all manner of things flying, also loads of trouble with Leeds at Wembley in 96.

Best mobs I've seen down the Villa.

    1) us v Birmingham 2003 every man and his dog turned up that night and the place was mental

    2) Boro they came down on the anniversary of the death of one of their firm and bought loads.

    3) Man U Cup game about 2001 Sunday night, trouble all over the place.

    4) can't split these but Spurs and Albion 2003 season, two proper good rows in pubs in city centre

    5) Everton in the late 90s escorted in by riot police off the train and escorted back. Proper firm led by AN

    6) Stoke - a Sunday game about 2009, 2010 ish. They took over a well known pub in Brum and had a proper mob led by a mixed race guy who looked like Mr T with a load of gold and bleached mohican

    7 Leeds cup game 2000

8 Coventry 2001 last day of season

I wasn't there this day, but Swansea came with a great mob and had a good day, Cardiff were poor at ours.

Birmingham always make a lot of bluster and a show but police have it sewn up, Wolves never travel.

Man City used to travel well to us, as did West Ham but not a lot from them lately, Man U always came with numbers, Millwall caused a bit of trouble at a cup game, but travel with more to Birmingham as they have history

Darlington came with loads in the cup, as did Hull

Some of my school friends were football casuals - up and down Scotland every weekend - even mid-teens in our scout troop, they'd turn camping weekends into a rumble in whatever town we were visiting - some of them carried on well into their 20s. Now in their 40s-50s they drink with the people they used to fight. One of them owns a restaurant and posts on Facebook when he has them in for a special visit.

The point escaped me in the 80s and even more so, now. Especially as one of our local lads died and another very close to it.

Moral of the story - one or two of them got into the local boxing club as their way out of it and and stayed on the straight and narrow.
