They could have awarded a draw considering Fury Vs. Wilder 1. So many would be satisfied. IMO - they should :)

a world champion pro boxer that is even operating at 25% should still be able to out box an MMA guy with zero boxing fights, zero amateur experience. You are coping my friend.

People who had watched the mma fights and knew how roided he was, that he had chin and big power, and were being realistic ... should have realised it was a risky fight under the circumstances (where overconfident Fury and his clown trainer were taking it lightly like an exo).

It was clearly utterly stupid to take this fight as the opponent was way more dangerous than people were making out and if he landed was very likely going to be able to drop or KO anyone. It shouldn't have surprised people that he was able to land and hurt Fury, especially Fury fighting aggressive. It was also clear FUry might struggle to stop him, so it was going to be hard to look good anyway.

Boxing fans are deluded and think nobody but 'legit' boxers can land punches or hurt boxers. They make up stories like the mma fighters are 'novices fighting their first boxing match!' to pretend they just came over from baseball. We're talking about 'pro' fighters who've spent many years training to punch/defend and sparring all the time, with specific boxing coaches for their striking, and with sparring partners who are actually boxers. Then people act like they have no idea in a boxing ring. The fact is plenty of mma fighters basically kickbox with takedown defence, and many of those barely ever kick.

It's actually somewhat impressive Fury was able to take the power, recover and manage to adapt and win still, when everything went wrong on such a big stage, and with probably the worst HW trainer going around in his corner.

Having said that, Fury deserves all the bashing for making that fight, being too cocky and humiliating himself. The only problem is that 'Sugar' just got away with murder here, being largely responsible for what happened due to his incompetence, but avoiding the heat.

Only Fury should feel ashamed, not boxing fans.

He should, but Ngannou didn´t have zero experience fighting with his hands. This is like a theater actor going to make a movie, it is different but not completely different like people try to make it seem.
Boxing champions spar MMA champions all the time, and the spar session is not finished in the first round becasue the mma guy cannot keep up with, at all.

Fury should´ve won, of course, I was shocked that Ngannou actually has a case to get a win...I just said that boxing people are overreacting over this.

Yes, boxers and mma guys spar all the time and they ar enot getting knocked out in every session.

We´ve seen in Kickboxing similar stories, a guy that fought in MMA only goes to kickboxing and do very well at the high level. It´s because the standing up fighting arts are NOT like the grappling arts, standing up arts like Boxing and Kickboxing....well... sorry, but they rely on athleticism a lot, the art or the science goes only to a certain point, all the rest are due to physical attributes, and a freak of nature like Ngannou, that can fight and always trained his hands, would do well in a boxing fight...sure. Why not ?

Now, if you put Djokovic in the ring against Beterbiev, whatever is Djokovic´s weight, Djokovic is getting knocked out in a few seconds... but he is tennis player.

The fight should probably have been a draw. Fury should have been ashamed, not boxing. Stipe took Ngannou apart with some fairly basic boxing and kicking .... Fury should have annihilated him. Instead Fury went and trained with Dustin Nichols at an all you can eat BBQ buffet and embarrassed himself.

When you meet such a physical monster that your punches and even your desperate elbows just bounce off with zero effect , this guy is EASILY able to lever your entire body out in a try to clinch him and simultany this guy is the guiness book record holder in punching power you might just run out of options .

Ngannou has also plenty of fighting experience so a good ring iq and judgement of his own stamina .

Future might tell but he might be a nightmare for every boxer . It appears its next to impossible to stop him so only outboxing is realistic

Why should I be embarrassed for a fat fraud POS that can't hack it at the top level anymore? Fury takes all this embarrassment on himself.

"the opponent was way more dangerous than people were making out"

Indeed. This was one of my posts before the fight:

Which of these three would you take to KO Joshua if your life depended on it?

Jermaine Franklin (part time factory worker, didn’t stop Pavel Sour over the full 10 rounds, who was smoked in 3 by Hughie, in 2 by Gorman and in 1 by Kabayel)

Carlos Takam (didn’t drop or stop any of his 11 best opponents, including Yoka and Forrest and didn’t drop or stop MMA journeyman Maldonado over the 10 round distance under boxing rules)

Francis Ngannou (GOAT MMA HW KO artist)

Many/most low IQ and dishonest boxing fans were saying things like "none of them would have a chance", as if 1. They wouldn't pick one if their life actually depended on it 2. They wouldn't pick Ngannou, who they knew deep down was probably the most dangerous hence they didn't pick Takam over him

It was obvious from this hypothetical that Ngannou was more dangerous than many or most "high level boxing opponents". The bookies weren't entirely fooled either, hence Ngannou was a 7/1 underdog and not 25/1 as Ruiz would have been.

    Ngannou’s attributes (pre-Fury)

    6’4, 83 inch reach, 272 lbs ripped

Excellent clinch fighter/wrester by boxing standards

Big power in both hands: most dangerous puncher in MMA history

Durable: never dropped or stopped in 21 MMA/kickboxing fights

14-15 years striking experience (MMA and boxing), sparred Takam (since Ngannou’s pre-UFC days) and Joyce

Lineal UFC heavyweight champion, three world title fights

Pressure on experienced boxers not to get beaten by an MMA fighter in a mega event

Easy to underestimate: 7/1 underdog, MMA fighter, 17-3 record, almost 38 years old, 21 months without a pro fight, 0-0 as a boxer, deliberately looked terrible on the pads during the public workouts, wild swinging highlight reel MMA KO’s, outstruck by D. Lewis and Gane, gassed badly against Miocic 1, only one (close) win past 10 minutes in 21 MMA/kickboxing fights

Ngannou was entirely focused on champion Fury, whereas Fury was thinking ahead to Usyk

No boxing footage of Ngannou to study, whereas team Ngannou had been studying Fury as a potential opponent since 2020 at the latest

"I told Ngannou after the spar: 'You can come to boxing no problem, this is easy for you'. Ngannou is one of the strongest men you will ever see in any combat sport." - Joe Joyce, 2020

"Francis can bang, he is very strong, I mean, who knows, he could knock Dillian Whyte out man." - Joe Joyce, 2021

Ngannou is that chef that knew how to cook well everything but always had a natural talent for cooking meat. Then he gained a prize and spent 1 year just specializing and only praticing cooking meat. He will be good !

MMA fighters have to train Boxing, they do train boxing a lot because they have to, and that is a praise to boxing, and only boxing people react with this snobbish attitude. Other arts are proud that MMA fighters HAVE to train them in order to be sucessful. There is no MMA champion that doesn´t train boxing, sometimes with world class BOXING coaches too like Roach !!!
And practice is everything in fighting.
I tell you one thing, if Ngannou cameback to MMA now, he probably lost some of the practice on the other non-boxing elements now, he would need some time to re-adjust back to MMA otherwise he would look bad and lose to guys that he could beat in the past.
Yes, we are talking about practice. Not a game, we're talking about practice, man.

I rewatched this fight again recently - Fury’s performance is indefensible. Ngannou was much better than advertised and than previous MMA fighters. However he’s still a slow heavyweight with very limited movement and highly inexperienced in terms of professional boxing experience.

Fury looked dreadful and I reckon a lot of top heavyweights would have a washed that version of him. There’s a reason they’ve had to delay the Usyk fight as they know it’s a much much harder fight than the Ngannou one. I’m shocked people are defending him at all, but unsurprised to see the usual triangle theory drivel from the site’s leading troll above.

Honestly this was far more embarrassing than AJ’s loss to Ruiz.

It's not a shock to me that someone who has been boxing for 14-15 years can have success at the highest level in a boxing ring. Puritty and Rahman beat Wlad and Lewis on less, Foreman crushed Frazier and Norton on less still etc.
