Always thought Rocky had a pretty good left hook (last minute of the clip).

    I would say Louis’.

The triple, machine gun left hooks on the reputable chin of Max Baer have already been referenced.

Perfect execution and optimal power. Sublime.

I’ll add Joe’s left hook that virtually lifted 233 lbs of Tony Galento off the canvas, depositing him flat on his back.

Joe basically “curled” Two Ton with one hand, without even gripping.

Who said Louis didn’t lift weights during his career?

Left hook to the body is Julio.
To the head, I still pick Arguello over him.

Julio has, and that is for another thread, the most perfect textbook right hand !

We're splitting **** hairs here. Julio did some beautiful things with his left to the head but how can you argue against Alexis?

Joe Louis' concise leverage, from legs through hips, through shoulders, all in an instant, on his right hand is just perfection.

The left hook that sent Nathan Mann hurling forward the ropes is a personal favorite. It looked like he was hit by a car.

The one that dropped Ettore unconscious on the ropes is also a daisy.

I’m not a big fan of the guy but Canelo has a beautiful left hook to head and body, very technically good and explosive, gets great rotation in it.

That’s another recommendation for Louis’ left hook - there are many to choose from as a personal favourite.

Man, against Ettore, Joe came awfully close to still holding on to the ropes with his right hand when delivering the left hook - but I believe he released his hold on the ropes just in time.

I know it’s about left hooks but that right hand Louis hit Ettore with was also unreal - it virtually knocked him out of camera frame.

I mean: “Hold up Joe, if you wouldn’t mind, could you turn your power down a notch or two so we can get full vision of the KD/KO?” Lol.

Even in the amateurs Holyfield had a pro left-hook (1:03).

Ettore takes the punch and flies face first into the ground. It's amazing how he got up from that. Here it is in slow motion:

Terrific punch. We are fortunate to have such clear films of Louis and fantastic treatments uploaded by YouTubers.

A somewhat overlooked figure: Andy Ruíz Jr.! His left hooks to the head of Joshua back in 2019 were a thing of beauty!

Unfortunately, Smooth Legends channel was deleted, probably by YouTube.
His restorations were by far the best, it's sad to see it gone.

    I vote Tommy Morrison

Absolutely text book, and id say hit harder than Tysons left hook.
