Don't think there was any difference. When Breland was there he just ignored his advice and attempts to improve his boxing skills and so when he was looking for a replacement he picked a guy that wouldn't even try to teach him anything and just blow smoke up his arse. I can't blame Scott for taking the gig, being paid well to just stroke Wilder's ego seems like easy money and even if it grates on you well at least you know Wilder will get his ass kicked in the ring whenever he fights anyone decent, so you can take some pleasure from that along with the paychecks.
Wilder is just poor student. Told You before fight that this how Wilder looks on pada (quick Sharp jab, combinationts, very nice moving) means nothing because in past we got same situation and Wilder quick back to his habit... Malik try teach him new things. He move better but end of the day he is the same. Sniper WHO even cant jab with all his extra size. Just looking for one solutions. Och ok. He learn how to throw hammerfist in clinching xD
You also have to compare the state of the boxer Scott took a older unmotivated Wilder while Breland had a younger Deontay. Still a bad choice imo and the way Breland was sacked didnt look good.
Wilder was more offensive with Breland, while with Malik he just seems confused and unsure, almost like he’s thinking way too much and when the time comes to pull the trigger he couldn’t. Plus I just think he’s declining rapidly and last night Parker was on point and stuck to his game plan brilliantly. Wilder was always limited but he was always willing to attack. IMO Malik has not been good for him because he’s trying to teach him new things and confusing him and honestly Wilder is a wealthy man now and his desire seems to also have dwindled.
Going into the last round Malik Scott was trying to give him all this tactical advice and the White guy in his corner was like……it’s the last round……
