He looked damn good to me.

He may have looked a touch less dynamic than usual, but what made this interesting was Tapales was tough and durable and offering real resistance, despite not winning very many rounds.

It was a very entertaining and engaging battle.

You guys say that Inoue is special, IF you are special, you have to consistent and be dominant all the time, especially with opponents who stand in front of you. Why I'm a hater to say that Inoue was not impressive(for someone who is special) today ?

give it a rest lol I aint the biggest inoue lover either and think hes abit overhyped on this forum but he beat a unified champion who has a solid chin and durable. he doesn't need to ko everyone in 3 rounds

He just won all but 1, maybe 2 rounds against and stopped the 2nd best in the division, clearly Tapales is kind of special himself. It's a hell of a lot more impressive than Bud Crawford losing 6 rounds to Porter and needing to bail himself out via KO, because Porter even a shot version, is still special. Usyk is as special as they come, but lost 4 to 5 round's to another special fighter in Briedis. See, that's how boxing works, there's a lot of special talents, but there's levels to their specialness. Now get some sleep, you're acting kooky as hell and being a dimwit, and I'm the sleep deprived one.

Ya it was when Tapales made that adjustment away from the high guard, won a round or 2 & then Inoue made his own adjustment to double up on the right to counter Tapales adjustment

Thankfully most people aren't absolute dingbats and are coming out of this with a newfound appreciation and respect for Tapales instead of trying to push some weird anti-Inoue agenda.

OK thanks. I'll watch the whole fight a little later on. Inoue looked in complete control in the rounds I did catch but I could see Tapales was a tough and tricky nut to crack and he landed a few good shots too.

Inoue looked roughly the same size as him to me but obviously it's expected for your opponents to be able to offer more resistance when you keep going up in weight. But Inoue's had two fights at the weight, both against unified champs, and won them both via KO so that's really impressive.

I gotta catch the full fight too. Interested to see how Inoue lost any rounds to Tapales.

You are still basically saying Tapales is trash. That is what this boils down too. You think Inoue should have stopped inside of 3 rnds, why because you think Tapales sucks. Well this is what others on here are trying to tell you that you are wrong about Tapales. He didn't get gift wins to obtain his belts. Tapales is a very good boxer. Good enough that he went 10 rnds.

Great fight. Tapales v Fulton would be a good scrap. I want to see Inoue put Casimero to sleep

Meh. I don't think the top guys in these small divisions are that good be honest. Tapalas is tough but he is nothing special imo. Not comparable to top level boxers in the higher divisions.

Tapales is great. Inoue was greater. Tapales stepped up and put his soul out there tonight. Dude deserves all the respect in the world.

Casimero's last outing looked dreadful & Inoue said he lost interest in fighting him after that is what I read

I think Inoue has 2 or 3 more fights at 122 next year before moving up & in the past he said those would be Nery, MJ, & Casimero but now it might just be Nery & MJ. Some are saying Sam Goodman but that would just be a 1 sided slaughter, may be Goodman & Casimero can fight & the winner gets Inoue once Inoue fights Nery & MJ
