    Ray Leonard vs Wilfredo Benitez
was my 1st intro world class boxing.
    Watching those two display skills
    I never associated with boxing,
which I thought most fights were
closer to the brutality of Frazier vs Ali
    in Manila.
I never thought about the technical
side of boxing until I studied this
    fight .
It really opened my eyes to how
    skilled some boxers were.

James Toney and Roy Jones were the talk of the town.

I was born in '62 so saw a little bit of Ali, Frazier and Foreman but was a little too young to really know what was happening. As I got older the first thing I remember catching me was Carlos Zarate's incredible knockout record and highlight of him with what looked like a 3 inch punch and then Leonard's knockout of Andy Price which was the likes of something I'd never seen before.

Greg Price99 and Fogger like this.
