    Pernell Whitaker - after the loss to Ramirez - controversey or not - he abandoned that running from the opponent and settled into fighting more in the pocket, but offering angles. The sprinting never went over well with judges.

    Not his first loss (his 2nd loss I think officially) but Jack Johnson after the loss to Choynski - actually taking on pointers and good advice from Joe (who understood Johnson’s huge potential) after their fight and during their incarceration, during which time I believe they also sparred exhibitions. Sharing is caring so Joe obviously cared.

    Came to name Canelo. Not only improved after the loss to Mayweather Jr, but also improved after the controversial win over GGG.

    Say what you want about Canelo, but he does seem to go to great effort to improve when he underperforms.
