I am from Bournemouth where Chris Billam-Smith is based. I have been to his last 4 fights that have been in Bournemouth, all have been great fight nights and lots of happy memories. He means a lot to the people of Bournemouth

What is your opinion on Chris Billam-Smith?

I am not looking forward to a potential fight with Opetaia, as much as I love Billam Smith. I think Opetaia would absolutely school him to pieces, Opetaia is just unbelievable. If Billam-Smith looks really good against Okolie and Riakporhe (Both of these 50/50 fights for me), then Billam Smith might put up a good fight IMO.

CBS's stock down in his last fight a bit despite a TKO victory. Maybe Masternak is quite underrated as he was also pretty competitive against Bellew. I expect CBS to fight Okolie due to a rematch clause and winner then fights Riakporhe.

Believe me I had a frown on my face when I realised I had to watch the sleeping pill in Okolie fight one more time.

    Thoughts on Chris Billam Smith?

Gutsy kid but looks like he's just keeping the belt warm to be honest. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

I like CBS but I don't think he's as talented or good as Opetaia. He's done well for himself though and I'm happy for him and wish him all the best.

He did the sport a big favour by beating the Okoliepus - losing the rematch would definitely compromise that, but he's well liked at the moment from the first fight.

He's decent rather than great, really, though.

I've been a fan of him for quite a while now. I like the fact he keeps proving the doubters wrong. Wasn't good enough to become a British champion. Becomes a British champion. Wasn't good enough to become European champion. Becomes a European champion. Wasn't good enough to become a world champion (and even I felt that was a step too far for him and I've been telling people for years he's underrated). Becomes a world champion.

I believe he should be undefeated because I thought he beat Riakporhe and that KD was completely bogus.

He's very tough, game, physically strong, and he can punch but his defence is terrible. He didn't look good last time out but to be fair the back half of the fight is where he comes into his own and grinds you down.

He's good but he's one of those fighters who could lose to a bunch of the top CWs

He should stay well way from Opetaia though. That's a terrible style match up for him. As tough as he is, he gets stopped in that one.

He's done really well & had some good wins.
Fringe world lvl/ euro lvl for me. Hasn't progressed that much in his craft and is reasonably easy to hit so unless he starts getting better soon someone like Opetaia would make mincemeat out of him in 4rds or less.
However if he comes through a couple more even fights & performs we'll his stock would rise...but still not good enough for Opetaia.
Gutsy..yes but not tenacious. Can punch enough to keep you honest but his lack of fundamentals and defensive skills need bringing up to par.
Really Nice chap and he's good for the sport especially the shows at Bournemouth but stay away from Opetaia & be nice to Eddie Hearn.

An overachiever but there's nothing wrong with that.

Opetaia will outclass him and probably stop him.

CBS vs Opetaia is highly desired fight surely. Two all action fighters.

I don't expect Billems career to last long though. Takes a tonne of punishment and goes all out.

The WBO allowed the fight against Masternak on the condition that the winner would next make a mandatory title defense. Riakporhe led the rankings in December, so I think the CBS-Riakporhe rematch is next.

Riakporhe will probably beat him when they fight next.

Not sure about that, he didn't cleanly beat him the first time they fought, and as much as Riakporhe has improved since then, so has CBS. It wouldn't shock me in the least of his rematch with him, goes similar to the Okolie match.

Good, genuine fighter but a couple of classes below Opetaia.
